Will he enter? Yes! 'I'm gonna tell you something that's gonna seem crazy,' an old man is heard saying. Then Franco, wearing a white shirt and a frightened look on his face, is seen opening a door that leads to blackness
'I'm gonna tell you something that's gonna seem crazy,' an old man is heard saying.
Then Franco, wearing a white shirt and a frightened look on his face, is seen opening a door that leads to blackness.
The man continues, 'When you go through there it's 1960.'
We're drawn in: 'I'm gonna tell you something that's gonna seem crazy,' an old man is heard saying; a image of President John Kennedy is shown
There's more: The man continues, 'When you go through there it's 1960'; later a blonde woman, played by Sarah Gadon, is shown as she holds a book
He then says, 'I need you to prevent the assassination of John F Kennedy.'
Images of a profile of Kennedy, of a book with burned edges, of a blonde woman with red lips reading a book, of a man holding a black pistol, of a man punching Franco in the back while at a deli, a man smoking and then a man running are flashed very quickly.
Then a tape recording playing, a clock hitting the 12 mark, Franco and a blonde woman running, Franco looking through a window with lace curtains are then shown in rapid succession.
Can he help? The same old voice is heard saying, 'I need you to prevent the assassination of John F Kennedy'
The tension builds: A clock that is hitting the 12 mark is flashes for a millisecond
The tone is scary and tense, which is typical for a King production.
During his mission, the teacher is threatened by Lee Harvey Oswald, falls in love with a woman and is challenged by the past that does not want to change.
The series also stars Chris Cooper, Josh Duhamel, T.R. Knight, Cherry Jones, Sarah Gadon, Lucy Fry, George MacKay and Daniel Webber.
On the run: Franco and the blonde rush through an abandoned hallway in what looks like 1960
Where are they headed: The two cane be seen running near what appears to be a white building
The show will debut on Hulu on February 15, 2016 and is from Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens producer JJ Abrams.
Also working on the series is Bridget Carpenter of Friday Night Lights fame.
Academy Award-winning Director Kevin Macdonald (The Last King of Scotland, State of Play, Black Sea) directs and executive produces the first two hours.
The eight-part series is based on King's bestseller from 2011.
And King has given the show a big thumb's up. 'It's remarkable, terrific. They did a great job,' he told Yahoo TV.
Someone seems to be after him: James has on a hat and coat that makes him blend into 1960
