Then Franco, wearing a white shirt and a frightened look on his face, is seen opening a door that leads to blackness.

The man continues, 'When you go through there it's 1960.'

He then says, 'I need you to prevent the assassination of John F Kennedy.'

Images of a profile of Kennedy, of a book with burned edges, of a blonde woman with red lips reading a book, of a man holding a black pistol, of a man punching Franco in the back while at a deli, a man smoking and then a man running are flashed very quickly.

Then a tape recording playing, a clock hitting the 12 mark, Franco and a blonde woman running, Franco looking through a window with lace curtains are then shown in rapid succession.

Can he help? The same old voice is heard saying, 'I need you to prevent the assassination of John F Kennedy'

The tone is scary and tense, which is typical for a King production.

During his mission, the teacher is threatened by Lee Harvey Oswald, falls in love with a woman and is challenged by the past that does not want to change.

The series also stars Chris Cooper, Josh Duhamel, T.R. Knight, Cherry Jones, Sarah Gadon, Lucy Fry, George MacKay and Daniel Webber.
