On Thursday night's episode the hunk threw himself into his first task alongside his two reality comrades after which he was quick to whip off his top and flaunt his abs.

It is little wonder Spencer was keen to disrobe after dripping in creepy-crawlies following the task.

Called Dicing With Danger, the task was inspired by the board game Snakes and Ladders and saw the three reality stars placed in a series of Perspex boxes so that their head, arms and legs were encased.

In front of them was a board game with numbers on it, along with a drawing of a critter. Each celebrity had to throw a dice and the corresponding jungle critter would join them in one of their boxes.

The SW3 lothario was first to roll his dice, which landed on a cricket square - so he had 2000 crickets tipped over his head.

With crickets crawling all over his body and up the side of his face, he squirmed: 'They feel revolting.'

Their fellow late arrival, Ferne seems to be playing cupid in the camp as she predicted romance between the northern lass and her London-based counterpart.

Sparks seemed to fly between Spencer and Vicky as they playfully chatted and joked - leading to the prediction from their TOWIE team mate.

Heading to the Bush Telegraph to chat about her new digs, Ferne said: 'Vicky and Spencer are cool... I think they might fancy each other. Just an observation!'

Spencer's departure comes after TOWIE veteran Gemma Collins shockingly stormed out of camp in last year's series.

She too left after just three days however she walked out after complaints of starvation as opposed to health reasons.

After her dramatic departure Gemma told This Morning that the lack of food was too much to handle.

'All of the coverage was played on the fact that I left because I was starving but I'll be honest with you, I was starving, I'm a plus size girl,' she explained. 'I went from eating everything to 500 calories a day and that did affect me. When I would sit down, the room was spinning. All of my blood sugar levels had dropped.'
