EXCLUSIVE 'It proves you don't have to be a diva': Adele super-fan describes her shock at being tricked by her idol in hilarious BBC comedy sketch
As a record-breaking artist who's sold millions of records worldwide you'd be forgiven for thinking Adele could be a bit of a diva.
But one of the singer's biggest fans, who stars alongside her in a hilarious sketch during Friday night's Adele at the BBC special, has revealed that's not the case.
Adele impersonator Gabriella Parrish, 24, from Brighton, said the star proved 'You don't have to be a diva to be somebody'.

Stitch up: Durring her BBC special, Adele, 27, took part in a sketch featuring a group of Adele impersonators who are told they are auditioning for Graham’s new top secret TV shoot at the Wimbledon Theatre, London
Adding: 'She's got a really good talent and loves sharing it with people, and has her own life. I hope people see that and they don't think it's a put on thing.'
As well as performing and chatting to Graham Norton during the special, Adele, 27, takes part in a sketch featuring a group of Adele impersonators who are told they are auditioning for Graham’s new top secret TV shoot at the Wimbledon Theatre, London.
However Adele, complete with prosthetic nose and chin, a slower, softer accent and full length gloves to cover her tattoos, is doing some impersonating of her own as she joins the audition too.
Who's fooling who: Adele pretended to be a nanny who also worked as an Adele impersonator for the sketch, which saw her wear a wig and fake nose
Nervous: Due on last, the other singers comfort ‘Jenny’ backstage when she tells them she feels a bit sick and dizzy ahead of her performance
Telling them her name is Jenny, she says she is a full-time nanny and part-time Adele impersonator.
While waiting to go on, ‘Jenny’ interacts with the other singers claiming she has been impersonating Adele for four years and quips it’s been ‘a bit slow recently’ due to ‘not much demand’.
Due on last, the other singers comfort ‘Jenny’ backstage when she tells them she feels a bit sick and dizzy ahead of her performance, and they sympathise when she misses her cue to start Make You Feel My Love.
Greatest hits: Fans were wowed by Adele's renditions of classics like Skyfall and Someone Like You
Exclusive: Adele performed new tracks Hello, When We Were Young and Million Years Ago during the programme
However when she starts singing, within a few bars, and with heart-warming reactions, the impersonators one by one start to realise that ‘Jenny’ is actually the real Adele.
Gabriella said: 'I didn't realise until she held the microphone out a little bit for everyone to sing along and I was like 'oh s**t'. I was gobsmacked. I didn't know what to do.
'It wasn't until the last part of the song that I was like 'oh my god'. It's the biggest dream come true. Not only have I wanted to see her live but to have the opportunity to see her live with nine other women five feet away. It's mental.'
As her idol, Gabriella said she had always thought to herself what Adele would be like in person.
Hilarious: Her fake nose did the best for disguising her appearance
Blending in: Unlike usual Adele was able to seamlessly blend into the background
'I always hoped she would come across as very down to earth and normal and have her laugh,' said the 24-year-old.
'She was everything I expected and more. She was the most genuine person I have ever met who is famous. I found it amazing really, how she can stay so grounded. She was so lovely to all of us and so complimentary as well, it made the whole day incredible from start to finish.'
The Hello singer made time for the impersonators once the cameras had stopped rolling. She chatted away with them before and after she removed her disguise and even had a sing along.
Gabriella revealed: 'There wasn't any urgency for her to leave. She just basically said thanks everyone for being involved. It was nice to see her take her wig off and not have a lot of make up on and be her.'
