Cath Kidston listed in Who's Who's (at last)

Her distinctive designs have spawned countless imitations, found a place in hundreds of thousands of homes, and built her a £75million business empire.

But Cath Kidston has only now been included in Who's Who, almost 20 years after she founded her eponymous firm.

The 53-year-old designer is one of 1,000 new entries in the book's 164th edition.

Miss Kidston, who lists car boot sales among her interests, worked for interior designer Nicky Haslam before setting up her first shop in 1993.

Her company now has more than 40 stores and concessions in Britain, and outlets in Japan and Korea.

Another latecomer is Jenson Button, who has been included two years after winning the Formula One championship – although his McLaren team mate Lewis Hamilton has yet to feature.

England manager Fabio Capello, Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux Jr and comedian Hugh Dennis are among others who appear in the book's 33,000 autobiographical entries for the first time.
