  • Hotel was under 'lock down' and couldn't give rooms to petrified teenagers - a British couple from Bath and five American students
  • The couple cut their honeymoon short and traveled home the next day

A newlywed British couple shared their honeymoon suite with seven frightened teenagers fleeing the Paris terrorist attacks.

Courtney, 20, and Callum Hartley, 22, let the desperate people sleep on their hotel room floor on the night 130 people were brutally killed.

Having touched down in the French capital earlier that day, the young couple had gone to bed early and were 'petrified' to be woken up by calls from anxious friends and family and discover there had been a terror attack.

'We didn't really know what was going on - we were getting calls from our friends to ask if we were okay and they told us there was a terrorist attack happening but we didn't know where,' Courtney told The Southern Daily Echo

Down in the hotel lobby, the hotel staff shut the doors and didn't let people in or out before the manager eventually told people to go to their rooms as there was still a gunman on the loose in Paris.

'It was manic, people looked terrified and everyone was trying to find out what was happening', said the mum to a four-month-old girl named Phoebee.

'There was a woman that came to the hotel that was covered in blood, crying and trying to get into the hotel, but the hotel was in lock down.

'An Australian man we met pushed the security out the way and let her in,' she said.

While they were in the hotel, the pair bumped into another British couple, aged 18 and 17 from Bath, and a group of five female American students, all aged 19.

'We met a group of five female American students and we asked if they were okay and they said they had just been by the Eiffel Tower and were told to get to safety so they ran to our hotel', said Courtney, who works as a police call handler.

The seven strangers couldn't get a room at the hotel because it was under 'lockdown' so the young couple decided to put them up for the night on their bedroom floor.

'It was absolutely terrifying, we were all panicking and we offered them a place to stay so we could all keep calm and remain safe.

'Callum and I slept in the bed and the seven others were dotted around the floor in our room - we were all petrified,' said Courtney.

'We planned on enjoying a romantic weekend together', said Courtney, a police call handler from Titchfield, near Fareham, Hants.

The next day the Courtney and Callum, an IT engineer, cut their honeymoon short and flew home just in time.

Anti-terror police were spotted at the Pullman Hotel on Saturday investigating what turned out to be false alarm as they hunted the ISIS gunman and his accomplices on the run.
