Star Wars fans around the world were moved to tears of joy when they came face-to-face with actor Harrison Ford.

The 73-year-old, who plays the role of Han Solo in the sci-fi blockbuster films, decided to appear via video-link to thank people for donating to charity through the Star Wars: Force For Change Project.

With the help of Ford, Omaze, who raise money for charitable causes, have announced a new campaign around Star Wars.

Two grand prize winners will win the chance to bring three friends to meet the cast at the red carpet premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in London or Los Angeles.

A man and woman are the first recipients of the prank, as Ford leans into the laptop and says 'hello there,' causing the woman to jump in shock at seeing the screen legend.
