Scott Quigg doesn't have a brain, never mind a boxing brain, blasts Carl Frampton

- The super-bantamweights meet at the Manchester Arena on February 27
- Both men are unbeaten and hold the IBF and WBA belts respectively
Carl Frampton branded Scott Quigg 'brainless' as he lit the blue touchpaper ahead of their long-awaited domestic dust-up.
The two super-bantamweight world champions will finally put their titles on the line in Manchester this coming February after four years of wrangling.
But having maintained a dignified silence during the drawn-out negotiations, Frampton seized his chance to stir the melting pot.

Frampton's IBF title and Quigg's WBA belt will be on the line when they touch gloves on February 27
'I had my first boxing bout when I was seven and I won about my first 30,' said the Northern Irishman. 'I don't know what he was doing at seven, probably still eating crayons. It is all manufactured.
'I don't like [trainer] Joe Gallagher, I don't like [promoter] Eddie Hearn and their smugness is p****** me off a bit. That's it really. I'm going out there to silence them too and I will.
'I think my amateur background will be the difference. He thinks he is a harder puncher than me but I don't think he is.
'He has one way of fighting and when he gets hit like he did in the Kiko [Martinez] fight then he s**** himself.
'I can stand with him and have a fight, I can do that if I want. But my boxing brain is going to win this fight. He is manufactured, he doesn't have a brain never mind a boxing brain. If I be smart I can make this fight pretty easy.'
The Manchester Arena will be split in half with each fighter selling 50 per cent of tickets.
But Frampton, who will earn the lion's share of the purse, expects to feel like the home fighter.

'It's going to be a hostile environment but it's going to be pro myself,' he added. 'How long is it going to take him to sell 10,000 tickets when he sells 200 for normal fights? Away fans always make more noise.
'Obviously we both need each other for this fight to happen but I can go and box anyone for big dough and sell out arenas and he boxes on undercards. He's boxing for five times less than I fight for. I didn't need to fight him but I want to.'
While Frampton won his IBF belt by beating then champion Kiko Martinez, Quigg was handed the vacant WBA strap by default before drawing with Yoandris Salinas in his first defence.
And after Cuban sensation Guillermo Rigondeaux was stripped of his 'Super' title, Quigg was upgraded to enable both belts to be on the line next year.
The fight between the two super-bantamweights has been fours years in the making but is now signed
'They call this a unification but I don't really like to do that,' said Frampton. 'It's good for TV but its a bit of a joke how he got his first title. The word 'regular' tells you everything about it. What's regular about being a world champion?
'This fight didn't need it, we could have fought for my IBF title. But Eddie Hearn's pulled strings and made him into the super duper champion.'
Quigg was more restrained during the first of three press conferences which will also take in Manchester and Belfast.
'It doesn't matter what he thinks and it doesn't bother me in the slightest,' he said.
'I believe I'll win the WBA and IBF titles and we'll see what he says after that.
'This is big time boxing. This only comes around every so often. I'm lucky I have him and he's lucky he's got me.'
