Kate Hudson looked like an elegant movie star when she stunned in a plunging red jumpsuit at the Campari bash in New York City on Wednesday.

The next day the 36-year-old actress went back to her California style as she exited a Manhattan hotel.

The Bride Wars beauty looked hippie chic as she wore a fitted knit pink turtleneck sweater and '70s-style washed bell bottom jeans.

She's going to be featuring within the Campari calendar, hence her appearance at the event and it's no surprise why the alcohol brand chose Kate to be the star of their calendar.

The 36-year-old looked absolutely stunning in her Naeem Khan jumpsuit, matching the red carpet in the scarlet number. The designer is world-renowned, since dressing the likes of Beyonce, Taylor Swift and Emily Blunt and is known for his impeccably cut dresses and the pure sophistication that oozes out of his pieces. Kate Hudson here really is case in point. The jumpsuit fits her perfectly and while she looks remarkably elegant, the plunging neckline and sparkling finish gives her serious sex appeal.

‘If something’s not right, I don’t believe in maintaining something for the sake of what’s considered a traditional family, because I believe that there are different ways to raise children,’ she added. ‘It’s far more effective to raise children in happy homes.’

The Fool's Gold star – who has also dated rock star Chris Robinson and major movie star Owen Wilson – explained it's not her fault that none of these relationships has worked out.

Hudson added that she is currently single, and she is just fine with that.

'It's nice to get acquainted with myself alone,' she said.

The blonde beauty also talked how hard it is to be away from her two sons. She has 11-year-old Ryder and Bingham, aged four.

'I think a lot of people, especially when you're a woman, you have kids, and work on movies, it's hard because you're away from them,' the California star said.

'There's nothing lazy about it. You go to work, get on the first plane home even if it's for eight hours, go back to work. I don't want to be away from my family, I love it so much. I just enjoy being on movie sets.'

Hudson is more successful now than she was a decade ago.

Not only is she making movies back to back - she is not only in Rock The Kasbah, but also voiced a character for Kung Fu Panda 3 and has costarred with Jennifer Aniston and Julia Roberts in Mother's Day - but she runs an athletic apparel company.

She next will shoot Lee Daniels' film, Richard Pryor: Is It Something I Said?, playing Pryor's wife Jennifer Lee, and in February she comes out with a health book.

Then there are her constant workouts, which includes training for a triathlon.

'It's about pushing yourself. Making a choice. It sort of becomes a metaphor for everything else,' the silver screen vet said.
