Kimberley Walsh swaps her elf costume for racy leather skirt as she heads out to celebrate her 34th birthday after wowing once again in festive musical

She spent the earlier part of her evening dressed as an elf for her role in the West End musical of the same name.

But Kimberley Walsh was back to her sartorial best when she stepped out from the London's Dominion Theatre to celebrate her 34th birthday with friends on Friday night.

The former Girls Aloud star looked as though she was really feeling the love as she flashed a beaming smile while walking alongside her assistant who juggled bouquets of flowers and cards.

The singer-turned-stage star was certainly dressed to impress for her night time antics in a racy leather mini skirt which skimmed the tops of her shapely thighs.

Keeping the look winter appropriate, Kimberley paired the style with woolly grey turtleneck jumper and a checked scarf.

The Love Machine crooner didn't look to be travelling lightly for her night of celebrating as she carried her essentials in a large houndstooth tote bag.

Her blonde locks were styled into elegant loose waves around her pretty face which had been enhanced with a sultry red lipstick and kohl lined eye.

The starlet was treated to countless gushy birthday wishes from fans on social media throughout the day, with the mother-of-one taking to Twitter later that night to thank them.

'Thanks for all your birthday messages I've had a really lovely day! Nighty night (sic),' Kimberley enthused.

One of the first to wish the musical theatre maestro a happy birthday was her former Girls Aloud band mate and one of her closest friends, Nicola Roberts, who wrote: 'Happy Birthday @KimberleyJWalsh. Love you so much.. Hope you're being spoilt with kisses from Justin & Bobby today.'

In an interview with The Telegraph last month, Kimberley revealed her plans to leave behind her pop career to focus on a future of musical theatre.

'I had such a long career with Girls Aloud, I don’t feel I need to do any more pop,' Kimberley dished.

'I felt really comfortable doing Shrek. I did a lot of musical theatre as a child and I enjoyed doing the acting, as well as the singing and dancing.

'My voice lends itself more towards theatre than pop and I love the simplicity of becoming someone else and then switching off when I leave the stage. After all those years of being Kimberley onstage and off, it’s lovely to inhabit another character.'
