After shocking fans with news of a 'secret' husband - the mystery is over.

Daily Mail Online has exclusively learned the identity of Scandal star Darby Stanchfield's real life leading man: 50-year-old entertainment professional Joseph Gallegos - and the two have been married for over six years.

Gallegos is the founder of his own marketing and content agency called 101 North. He was formerly an executive with Trailer Park, the world’s largest entertainment and content marketing agency, ranked among Ad Age's Top 100.

His LinkedIn profile revealed he helped developed multi-channel/multi-lingual global campaigns and content for entertainment properties, and consumer brands alike. Noteworthy campaigns included Jurassic World, 21 Jump Street, Interstellar, Guardians of the Galaxy, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Frozen.

The 44-year-old Alaska native purchased a three-bedroom, four-bath, 1,608 square foot Los Angeles home for $900,000 by herself in December 2006.

But official records show the actress then added her husband Joseph to the deed in April 2009.

They sold it four years later in 2013.

The actress's beau is rarely seen with her in public but Daily Mail Online found the two in a picture together from December 2012 in Los Angeles at Confidential's 10th Anniversary Party.

Stanchfield often stays tight-lipped to the press about her man.

But she did, however, gush a bit about her personal life back in 2013 when she was speaking with Shape magazine.

When asked if she had any advice for how other women can stay happy and healthy, the star talked about being grateful.

'I think for me, at the beginning of the day and at the end of the day, taking a moment to be really grateful for all the good in my life,' she said.

The red-haired beauty is most known for her role as Abby Whelan on Scandal but has also starred on Castle, Jericho, Mad Men and NCIS.

She has four films currently in development, including upcoming comedy Loserville.
