The eight-year-old told People: 'I learned from Dolly to never give up on a dream.
'And because of what Dolly has accomplished when all she had in the beginning was love, I learned that with love anything is possible.'
And even though there is a 61 year age gap between the pair, she also said the best thing about the role was spending time with the Tennessee native, who she revealed told her 'I loved your little eyes,' during her audition.
Alyvia, whose favourite film is Nine To Five, added: 'The best thing about playing Dolly Parton is playing Dolly Parton! She's a legend. Everyone knows Dolly."

The film, which is only one of several based on her upbringing, is slated to show on NBC on December 10.
