Late night host Seth Meyers and wife Alexi Ashe are expecting their first child together.

A rep for the couple confirmed with Us Weekly on Friday that Ashe is pregnant.

The two are understood to have first revealed the news to their friends at the American Museum Of Natural History gala on Thursday.

According to another Us Weekly source, Seth and his beloved 'are so thrilled to become parents and were so happy to share the exciting news with friends and cast members from SNL last night.'

The source was referring to the couple's presence at the American Museum Of Natural History gala.

Back in July 2013, Seth popped the question to his longtime partner after five years of dating.

And two months later on September 1st, the engaged couple tied the knot at Martha's Vineyard.

The star-studded guest list included Seth's former Saturday Night Live co-star Jason Sudeikis and his fiancée Olivia Wilde; Kristen Wiig, Rose Bryne, Jake Gyllenhaal and his model girlfriend Alyssa Miller, Girls actress Allison Williams and 30 Rock's Jack McBrayer.

But unfortuantely the weekend got off to a rocky start when Alexi got food poisoning after eating an oyster at the couple's rehearsal dinner.

She was so sick on their big day that nurses advised her not to get married.

According to Us Weekly,Seth finally opened up about the almost disastrous episode at a Couture Council luncheon last year.

'In a testament to my wife's will and my wife's strength, she got herself pumped full of fluids, and she rallied and made it to the ceremony...when she walked out in her Herrera wedding dress, she looked more beautiful than i had ever seen her.'

Perhaps something that may have helped her power through; the bride’s sister and maid-of-honour convinced country music star Brad Paisley to sing his song Then for their first dance.
