The Miami Herald reports that 2:58 remained in the game when stadium officials called Friday's game between Miami Central and Miami Carol City high schools.

People in the stands at Traz Powell Stadium ran to the exits when the gunshots were heard. Coaches told players to get down on the field.

Central football coach Ronald Smith said afterward, 'You hate to see anything like that happen, but luckily it seems like no one was hurt.'

It is unclear if the shots were fired inside or outside the stadium but police have five suspects in custody.
