VIDEO EXCLUSIVE: Abs-flashing Jessica Lowndes puts on a steamy display in Déjà Vu music video... as she reveals it's about 'walking away from bad relationships'

Jessica Lowndes has revealed that her latest love song is about knowing when to walk away from a bad relationship.

Speaking to MailOnline on Thursday ahead of the release of her latest track, the 27-year-old described how Déjà Vu was all about getting stuck in limbo with one person and finding the strength to go it alone.

The 90210 beauty, whose most famous relationship was with Scottish rugby ace Thom Evans, shares quite a steamy display in the new video.

Steamy: Jessica Lowndes launched her new music video on Friday, and in an exclusive chat told MailOnline that it was a love song

'It's a song I think a lot of people can relate to,' she revealed. 'We've all been in relationships where we know it's best to walk away. But instead we get stuck in this limbo, going through the same emotions with this person.

'Therefore it's a bit like Déjà Vu and for me this is a song about love. It's about having enough strength to up and walk away, which is often easier said than done.'

Stripping back the hair and make-up styling for a more 'authentic' vibe, Jessica said she wanted the video to feel distinctly different to her last release Silicone In Stereo, which saw the brunette strip off for a nude shower scene.

The video, which features an Abbey Road street sign and pays homage to Big Ben in the lyrics, was also made to look like it was shot in the British capital.

She continued: 'I shot it to make it look as much like London as possible, because I love London, it's one of my favourite cities and it's one of my greatest inspirations, especially for music.

'For me, it's one of the most romantic places of all and I thought it was a perfect backdrop for the video.'

Returning with another musical offering - her first second since teen drama 90210 ended in 2013 - Jessica said she'd also been networking with British pop sensation Pixie Lott most recently.

She called her the 'kindest, most genuine girls I've met,' but confessed that Pixie was better at linking her up with music people than eligible British bachelors.

Jessica, who previously found romance with rugby hunk Tom before their relationship wrapped up after seven months in 2013, said her mind was firmly on music and acting for the time being.

And as much as Jessica's intimate relationship in the new music video forms the focal point of her new visual offering, her physique is also something of a distraction.

During the exclusive chat, Jessica went on to reveal that the key to her incredible form (similarly on display in the majority of her 700k-followed Instagram posts) is Pilates.

'I love fitness,' she said. 'It's always been a huge part of my life. I think posting about workouts can help people too.'

'I've had amazing results with Pilates and I love starting my day like that. Definitely with my body type, it's just the perfect thing for me but I've also just recently started taking dance lessons.

'When I was a kid I did ballet for years and now I'm trying different kinds of dancing which is definitely fun.

'I have a hard time sometimes just running on a treadmill, but if I can be outside and have views that's important.

'In LA, there's the Santa Monica stairs, which is an amazing workout but it's also right by the beach, which is kind of motivating.'

And on her diet, the brunette said: 'I don't deprive myself, I have a sweet tooth but everything in moderation. I definitely don't hold back but I don't go over the top either.'

Jessica's new single Déjà Vu is available to buy from today on iTunes
