Maxi-mum style! Samantha Cameron dazzles in designer floor-length skirt as she attends the Save the Children Winter Gala

  • Samantha Cameron wore a vibrant printed skirt at Save the Children ball
  • She attended Alice in Wonderland-themed night without husband David
  • The 44-year-old mother-of-four dazzled in a daring designer outfit

Samantha Cameron turned heads in a vibrant printed floor-length skirt as she stepped out for the annual Save the Children's ball tonight.

The 44-year-old attended The Secret Winter Gala at the Guildhall in London without her husband Prime Minister David Cameron, but she ensured she still drew attention thanks to her bold geometric skirt by designer Peter Pilotto.

The theme of the night was Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - and Samantha's maxi, which she paired with a silky black tee and simple belt - certainly was a wonder. Similar skirts from the designer sell for more than £1,000.

The trippy pattern on Samantha's offered a mix of wiggles, circles and swirls in black, pink, green and blue.

With a thin net overlay, the mother-of-four kept the rest of her outfit simple, accessorising with minimal jewellery including large stud earrings, plus a light blue clutch and black heels.

She wore her hair loose - and a little windswept thanks to the weather - with natural rose-tinted make-up.

Guests of the ball, which raises money for Save the Children, were treated to an elegant evening of fine dining and entertainment celebrating the wonder of children's literature.
