Anna Paquin is hitting back at haters who called her 'fat' and 'ugly' after she attended the premiere of the animated children's movie, The Good Dinosaur, on Tuesday.

The 33-year-old actress, who voices Ramsey in the Disney Pixar film, wore a stunning floral embroidered black gown to the screening, but some internet commenters didn't like her appearance, and felt the need to make nasty remarks about her looks.

But Anna refused to turn a blind eye to the body shamers, shutting them down on Twitter by writing: 'Fun fact: Wearing a dress that is not skin-tight = pregnant/invites people to call you fat. I'm neither so thanks for that.'

Her tweet received more than 1,000 likes on the social media site.

The mother-of-two, who attended the event with her husband, 46-year-old Stephen Moyer, also mocked the internet trolls for assuming she was pregnant just because of her choice of dress.

'Someone who was upset left my skin-tight hooker gear at home for my premiere... ya know a FAMILY film [sic],' wrote Anna.

And she wasn't done there. The True Blood star, who was renowned for showing off her trim and toned physique in all manner of skimpy outfits on the show, went on to slam the cowardice of internet haters, many of whom criticized her dark hair.

After receiving tons of positive replies from fans who praised her appearance, Anna added: 'Sorry if this feels like blatant compliment fishing, really not my intention but do appreciate the love xo.'

The star, who is a mom to three-year-old twins Poppy and Charlie, recently changed her Twitter profile picture to an orange dinosaur from her children's movie, prompting a fan to joke: 'You're not ugly. You look a bit orange though but profile pictures are never very flattering anyway, it's ok.'
