She announced her pregnancy back in June, and with merely weeks to go until her due date, Erika Heynatz looks like she'll soon be meeting her little one.

While enjoying an afternoon at Dee Why beach north of Sydney on Friday, the Home and Away star flaunted her sizable baby bump as she cooled off from the scorching 42 degree-day.

Accompanied by her husband Andrew Kingston, the stunning 40-year-old stepped out onto the sand in a sexy red bikini.

Expecting their first child in December, Erika's doting husband of eight years lovingly stroked her head as they walked up the shore together.

The pair were married in 2007 in a beautiful ceremony in Whale Beach, with Erika wearing a gown designed by Alex Perry, her co-star on Australia's Next Top Model.

Making the happy announcement via social media in June, Erika shared her pregnancy news with her 30,000 Instagram followers.

'Bursting with excitement to share that a beautiful little Sagittarius baby is coming our way!' she gushed.

She added: 'Due to pop out in December unless he/she has other plans.'

The expectant mother has been keeping a healthy exercise regime throughout the pregnancy, documenting her workouts to the photo-sharing app often.

Last month, she took a selfie after her gym session with her trainer, Moodi Dennaoui, focusing primarily on her core strength.

Sharing the snap, the Papua New Guinea-born model turned actor looked to be in incredible shape in all-black activewear, pulling up her singlet to show off her burgeoning tummy.

'We smashed out a great strength training session in preparation for the serious weightlifting ahead,' she wrote in the caption, adding: 'Feeling very fit, focused, healthy, & happy!'
