The vet also found the injuries were most likely caused by another dog.

Charges laid against Mr Graham’s business relating to the death of Wags include committing an act of aggravated cruelty upon an animal and failing to exercise reasonable care.

The dog’s owner Cheryl Moscato told Daily Mail Australia that she hoped Mr Graham would ‘make some changes and be accountable’.

Before charges were laid last week, Ms Moscato launched a Facebook page to help get justice for Wags, which has attracted almost 1,800 likes.

She wrote a short poem for the deaf dog on the Facebook page, which said: ‘He got his name from his tail that wagged / It never stopped even when his ears sagged’.

‘He was a devoted and good friend,’ it continued. ‘I do hope in time our hearts will mend.’

An RSPCA spokesman told Fairfax that it's alleged the business failed to ensure Wags was protected from distress or injury caused by other animals.

Almost three weeks after the dog's death, Farmer Dave Dog Centre issued a statement which said that his death was a ‘massive blow to us’.

It also said staff ‘remain saddened and distressed by the death of Wags while in our care earlier this month.

‘The death of Wags was a tragic accident, and we are sincerely sorry for the loss of this beloved dog while in our care.'

Mr Graham’s company has also been charged for the mistreatment of two further dogs, Fansu and Gabe.

His ex-partner’s father, John Cauchi, faces 23 charges of live baiting and animal cruelty, after video footage surfaced of him using a rabbit on a leash to excite a greyhound, ABC reports.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Farmer Dave Dog Centre for comment.

He famously came out as gay on the reality television program in 2006.
