United step up summer spending plans as Fergie targets PSV midfielder Strootman

Manchester United plan to bolster their midfield by splashing out £15million on PSV Eindhoven's Kevin Strootman.

The Dutchman has been dubbed 'the new Roy Keane' having established himself as a key player for both club and country.

Strootman has been made captain of the Dutch giants and has kept Manchester City's Nigel de Jong out of the national team.
