'I'm waiting for someone to send me back to Tottenham or something!' Adele tells of struggles with self belief... while new album 25 is on track to make chart history

She's been out of the spotlight for the last few years focusing on family life.

But with her new album 25 now in stores, self-proclaimed 'mouthy' Brit Adele has told how she struggled to believe in her talents as she does the promotional rounds for the chart-topping album.

In a candid new interview with Australia's 60 Minutes, set to air on Sunday, the 27-year-old revealed that she 'didn't believe in [herself]' despite the blockbuster success of her last album, 21.

'There was quite a long period where I didn't believe in myself,' the Hello hitmaker revealed.

'I'm waiting for someone to send me back to Tottenham or something.'

Long before she found fame, the talented star was born in the rundown suburb of Tottenham and then moved to a dingy flat above a bargain store in South London with her mother.

The record-breaking songstress also opened up about her fear of not meeting the public's high expectations with her comeback following the staggering popularity of the 30-million selling 21.

'I get really nervous,' she confessed to TV interviewer Liz Hayes.

'I'm scared. I don't want to disappoint them.'

The mother-of-one then got even more candid, adding: 'For the first time in my entire life I feel like I’m dealing with myself.'

Despite getting deep and personal, the Rolling In The Deep diva still proved she hasn't lost her signature sense of humour.

'When I was eight I'd be as mouthy then as I am now,' she cackled.

She also expressed her shock at the success of 21, which is currently ranked as the 20th highest-selling album of ALL TIME.

'How is it possible that album kept getting bigger and bigger?'

Although her latest effort 25 has only been out for a few days, it's already poised to become the biggest album of the year.

Immediately after its release, the critically-acclaimed disc reached No. 1 on iTunes in 106 countries worldwide and sold 900,000 copies in its first day on the American iTunes store alone.

Billboard has now predicted that 25 should easily set the record for the highest-first week sales in music HISTORY by shifting 'at least' 2.5 million copies.

The current record is held by *NSYNC's No String Attached, which sold 2,416,000 copies back in 2000 when record sales were at their peak.
