Betty Draper would NOT approve! January Jones tries out the Daisy Dukes with black tights trend while heading out for breakfast in LA

Pairing Daisy Dukes with black tights has been a fashion 'do' for young models.

On Friday January Jones tried the look on for size as she stepped out for breakfast in Los Angeles.

The outfit, which was accented by a loud cheetah print purse, is the opposite of what her Mad Men character Betty Draper would have worn.

Also with the blonde babe were her mother and son. But they were not pictured.

January's shorts looked like they had been cut and not hemmed as the bottom part rolled up. The denim number also had several buttons up the front and pockets as well as belt loops.

A thin white T-shirt was tucked in and she added a black cardigan that matched her black tights and buckled boots.

Jones chose to wear her short hair down and accessorized with a diamond necklace, Tiffany & Co. gold bracelet, several rings and brown-rimmed sunglasses.

Her legs looked toned and later when she took off her cardigan, she exposed slender arms.

The South Dakota native was also seen carrying shopping bags after her morning meal.

Go wild with January's leopard print Burberry bag

January Jones showed off her trim figure in a pair of high-waisted denim shorts and sparkly tights but it was her Burberry bag that really stole our hearts. The leopard print bucket bag was sure to turn a few heads with its bold print.

We've seen a resurgence of bucket bags among Hollywood's leading ladies in the last year. Many of them have been sleek and minimal, and they were the perfect finishing piece to an off duty ensemble. But the Mad Med star's carryall traded in a subtle approach for a more eye catching pattern.

Click right to get January's bag at Forward by Elyse Walker for a little under $3000. Or save some dough with the options in our edit. Elizabeth and James has a designer version for $595 or get a lookalike style by Dune for only $117.

'I loved the way Betty’s story ended and the strength and the resolve and the pride that she has in herself,' she told Deadline in May.

Still, her last day on the set was not easy.

'I was super emotional that day and I don’t usually post three pictures in one day but I was a ball of tears the whole day,' she added.

'So I was feeling very nostalgic and I feel a great sense of relief now that it has aired and I don’t have to keep that secret anymore but I’m also sort of heartbroken, like a friend has passed away or something. It’s very bizarre.'
