The only Australian known to have been injured in the terrorist attacks across Paris last week has spoken of the moment she was shot and her incredible survival story. Emma Parkinson, 19, from Hobart was enjoying the Eagles of Death Metal gig at Bataclan when Islamic State gunmen stormed the concert hall and slaughtered 89. The young woman credits a stranger's quick thinking for so many people's escape from the horror. 'At one moment, one person yelled that we should run and I don't know if we would have if that person hadn't said that,' Ms Parkinson explained. It was then that the thousand-odd music lovers in the concert hall began running.

Gun-toting demonstrators surrounded a mosque in Florida on Saturday screaming: 'Stop the Islamization of America!' The group of around 15 people outside the Islamic Center of Irving carried placards in an apparent protest against accepting Syrian refugees. It comes just over a week after the Islamic State terrorist attacks on Paris, which sparked a surge in Islamophobia in the United States.

Southall made the allegations as Trump said the demonstrator may have deserved to be roughed up because he was 'looking to make trouble'. Southall, who interrupted the Republican presidential candidate's speech in Birmingham, Alabama, chanted 'black lives matter' before he was wrestled to the ground by people in the crowd. They were seen attacking him until security intervened and threw him out.

Tiffany Trump appeared on ABC's 20/20 with her half-siblings Donald Jr., Eric and Ivanka, explaining why she believes her father is the best man to be President. 'He's true to himself,' she said. 'And he speaks in a way that the average person can understand. I think that's refreshing for everyone.' She also cracked jokes about her father's trademark hairstyle, saying he was glad she had not taken after him in that respect.

New Orleans police on Sunday identified Euric Cain (top left), 21, as the man seen on surveillance camera (footage pictured) dragging the woman toward an SUV before shooting student Peter Gold (bottom left), 25, in the abdomen when he intervened. Mayor Mitch Landrieu issued a warning telling the gunman they were going to find him and that he would spend the rest of his life behind bars. 'We're going to find you, we're going to prosecute you and you're going to spend the rest of your life behind bars,' the New Orleans mayor said.

The Bush family gathered in Boca Grande, Florida this weekend for the wedding of one of their own - Marshall Bush, daughter of George H. W. Bush's youngest son Marvin.  Not only was the 41st president there to support his granddaughter on her big day, but her uncle George was too.  First cousins Barbara and Jenna also made the fete, which featured a tented reception, lots of monograms and even fireworks. And new photographs show the pretty wooden hut in which the power couple who married in Venice last year will no doubt soon be relaxing. The couple will eventually be moving into what they hope will be an immaculate family home, complete with a home cinema and 360-degree security. The Clooneys are also installing a new 60ft swimming pool, surrounded in reclaimed York stone, a pool house and a tennis court. And the villagers will be happy when it is finished, following complaints that dozens of construction vehicles on local roads are ruining their quiet lifestyle.

Abigail Hanna, 21 from Topsfield, Massachusetts, was arrested on Friday after Lyndon Albers was discovered lying on the side of the road - three hours after she was reported missing. The toddler had cigarette burns on her body and her head had been shaved. She was taken to hospital and her condition was improving on Sunday night. Hanna, who is being held without bail, was educated at an $18,000-a-year private Christian Preparatory school in Connecticut, a report suggests. She grew up in a home worth more than $1million, before attending Gordon College - but a spokesman told the Boston Globe she left after one semester. According to Facebook, she got engaged to Nathan Wolters earlier this month. But he deleted his profile after her arrest. An ex-classmate said she struggled with depression and 'body image' issues.

The Texas teacher suffered minor injuries when she was attacked in her classroom by a 16-year-old girl after she corrected the female student while she was giving a presentation at Skyline High School. The Dallas Independent School District has not named the student or the teacher, but a video that was taken of the incident was posted on Twitter on November 19. In the video, the student and teacher can be seen standing toe to toe and then the girl appears to slap the teacher in the face with her right hand (left). After the slap hit home, the teacher and student both appeared to strike each other and then they began to grapple (right). Both individuals ended up on top of a desk while other students in the classroom watched in shock.

Tony Beason, 53, from Longview, tracked down the location of his son Tommy's body after following the information on a cell phone which he received from an investigator. Beason said he had been determined to find his 30-year-old son, who had been missing for three weeks, before Thanksgiving. The body was found at around 2pm in Little Caney Creek on Mount Pisgah Road near Liberty City on Wednesday. Beason added that he identified his son by the marks on his body.

Officers arriving at the scene, in the 1600 block of Lafayette Street in Albuquerque, found a 70-year-old man and his wife, 66, pointing their guns at Aaron Lujan (pictured inset). The 26-year-old was released from jail on Thursday - but later that same day, he was caught loading the stolen items into a stolen SUV. The husband had observed Lujan putting a generator, power tools and other items of his into a vehicle. The man says he confronted Lujan in the street outside his home, but was ignored. The husband then grabbed his shotgun while his wife took a handgun and both held Lujan at gunpoint until authorities arrived.

Jennifer Scharf, left,who has been offering the weekly yoga class at the University of Ottawa campus for seven years, said she was notified in September that the program was being ended. In an email from the Center for Students with Disabilities, staff wrote that while yoga is 'accessible and great for students', there are 'cultural issues of implication involved in the practice'. The center's staff said that yoga has been under 'a lot of controversy lately' as a result of how it is being practiced and which cultures those practices are 'being taken from,' according to the Ottawa Sun. Staff from the center also expressed that many of those cultures 'experienced oppression, cultural genocide and Diasporas due to colonialism and western supremacy'.

But a new documentary has revealed how she was actually deeply troubled by things that happened in early life, such as the bullying she suffered at school. These insecurities led to the demons that haunted her in later life, and eventually led to her death from a heroin overdose in LA.

Chris Barnes (right), a soldier with the National Guard, was watching the Ole Miss versus LSU game with his wife, Sarah (pictured together, inset), when three officers approached him and tried to remove him from the stand. His family say he had done nothing wrong and that police had mistaken him for someone who had thrown a cup from a few rows behind. Mr Barnes argued with the cops and as he tried to resist their attempts to eject him from the game, one punched him (left) in the eye, leaving him with a fractured eye socket, concussion and bruised eye tissue.

Carole Adler lost her son Taylor Thyfault (pictured together, right), 21, in March this year when a suspect on the run crashed a car into him as he was completing his cadet training with the Colorado State Patrol. Adler was used to being in constant contact with her son, so a few weeks after his death, she texted him to say she missed and loved him. She wasn't expecting any replies - but received a response after sending several messages. It was from Sergeant Kell Husley, who recently got a new work phone. He wrote: 'I'm with the Greeley Police Department, and I don't think your texts are going where you think they are.' He offered to request a new phone number after Adler replied and said she was Thyfault's mother. But instead, the pair formed a bond over Thyfault and Adler told Sgt Husley to keep the number as he was living her son's dream.

Emily Morgan from Ogden, Utah, gave birth to tiny Haiden while she was on a Caribbean cruise with husband Chase on August 31. He was so small, the new mother was told she had miscarried him, but he survived a 14-hour trip to the nearest island, Puerto Rico. Haiden was then flown to a hospital in Miami for treatment. Now, more than two months since he arrived into the world, he has been brought home. The boy touched down at an Ogden airport on Saturday evening and was greeted by family and the parents' friends. He will now go to another hospital where doctors will wait until he is strong enough to go home.

A young boy (pictured) with an unfortunately timed case of the hiccups has powered through a performance of the national anthem at a Baseball game. Ethan Hall, seven, from Hallmark Music Studio in South Australia, was given the privilege of singing the national anthem before the Australian Baseball League match between the Brisbane Bandits and Adelaide Bite at Cooper Stadium on Friday night. However, footage of the memorable performance showed players from both baseball teams struggled to contain their giggles as Ethan stumbled through the song with an adorable bout of the hiccups. 

Known as Casa do Penedo, or House of Stone, this bizarre dwelling in northern Portugal's Fafe Mountains has become a growing tourist attraction. Once used as a holiday home by a family, it has been transformed into a museum with local relics and photos on display. The 16.5-ft tall house is nestled within four granite boulders, and a swimming pool carved into one of the large rocks.

A rat managed to take a selfie on a man's cell phone (center) this week after rudely crawling into his sweater (pictured) while he was taking a nap in New York. Tourist Don Richards filmed the funny moment. Just two months ago, a rat was caught on camera dragging a pizza down the stairs at the First Avenue subway station. Not long after, someone managed to film a fight between a rat and a pigeon.
