Rock stars! 5 Seconds Of Summer deliver electrifying performance of Hey Everybody at American Music Awards

Australian boy band 5 Seconds Of Summer certainly brought the roof down when they performed at the American Music Awards on Sunday.

Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Ashton Irwin and Michael Clifford took to the stage at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles with a rocking rendition of their smash hit Hey Everybody.

The rising stars were dressed to impress as they hit the high notes, with lead vocalist Luke, 19, rocking a white and red printed T-shirt layered with a cool, light jacket.

Strumming away on his blue electric guitar, the singer lead the chorus of the band's song featured on their latest album titled Sounds Good Feels Good.

Meanwhile guitarist Calum, 19, opted for an all-black ensemble while on stage.

The tattooed stud showed off his bulging biceps and bold body art in a collared shirt, teamed with matching trousers for the big awards show performance.

Calum wore the same attire on the red carpet, with the band's drummer Ashton Irwin sporting a similar outfit.

The 21-year-old cutie wore a long-sleeved black shirt with matching trousers, while guitarist Michael Clifford a pale khaki shirt.

Known for his quirky tastes in hair colour, Michael once again dared to make a statement with his spiky locks dyed a striking scarlet.

The boys hit the stage just before Selena Gomez, who then entertained the crowd with her latest hit Same Old Love.

The boys from 5SOS won't be able to make it home to Australia later in the week for the ARIA Awards, but they will be making a live cross to the Sydney ceremony from a friend's house in Los Angeles.
