It's always an awkward moment for a pop star - when their pre auto-tune audio is leaked.

But anyone hoping to embarrass Adele will be disappointed - her raw audio from Saturday Night Live is even better without the backing track.

The flawless pitch-perfect mic footage, which somehow made it's way online, is simply breathtaking.

Adele, 27, stunned her American fans as she performed on SNL in New York City on Saturday night.

Performing live, the mother-of-one sung two tracks from her new album 25 - Hello and When We Were Young - to universal acclaim from viewers.

The Londoner first took to the stage and wowed with a haunting, note-perfect rendition of her current single, Hello.

Surrounded by a live band, she later performed the album track When We Were Young - and impeccable as ever.

Introduced by actor Matthew McConaughey - who was hosting SNL for the first time in 12 years - the Oscar-winning star gave refreshingly stripped back performances of her tunes.

She allowed her incredible vocals to grab all the attention, although she looked phenomenal in a brown suede fringed dress.

The figure-flattering number highlighted her curves in all the right places, boasting a silver zip running from the top to the bottom of the frock.

The Someone Like You songstress styled the 70s-inspired piece with a pair of black, pointed stiletto heels.

Immediately after its release on Friday, the critically-acclaimed disc reached No. 1 on iTunes in 106 countries worldwide and sold 900,000 copies in its first day on the American iTunes store alone.

Billboard has now predicted that 25 should easily set the record for the highest-first week sales in music HISTORY by shifting 'at least' 2.5 million copies.

The current record is held by *NSYNC's No String Attached, which sold 2,416,000 copies back in 2000 when record sales were at their peak.
