Cesc Fabregas pulled no punches earlier this week when he delivered a damning assessment of Chelsea's season so far, and skipper John Terry is the latest Blues star to come out swinging.

The 34-year-old defender has proven he's still got the stomach for a fight as he maintains his fitness during the international break ahead of the return of the Premier League this weekend.

Terry has been taking part in personal training sessions to ensure he is in peak physical condition when Chelsea return to action against Norwich against Norwich at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The former England captain took to Instagram on Tuesday morning to share a video of himself taking part in a boxercise session.

'Smashing a few sessions during the international break making sure I stay fit,' Terry wrote on the social media site alongside the video.

Terry also thanked personal trainer Bradley Simmonds after he put the Chelsea captain through his paces with a series of high speed combinations during the workout.

In a separate video uploaded to Simmons' Instagram account a video shows Terry working on his core strength using a series of exercises.

Simmonds wrote: 'After 45 minutes of Boxing. We ended the session with 15 minutes of Core. Three of the eight core exercises I put John Terry through. No time off for JT during the international break.' [sic]

Last weekend Terry was able to get some minutes under his belt as he played alongside former England team-mate David Beckham during a UNICEF charity match.

Terry linen up at the heart of the Great Britain and Ireland defence alongside Jamie Carragher as they beat the Rest of the World 3-1 at Old Trafford.

Terry will be hoping for a similar scoreline in his favour when Jose Mourinho's side host Norwich this weekend as they look to salvage their season.

Cheslea's 1-0 defeat away to Stoke before the international break was their seventh in just 12 Premier League games this season and one that leaves the Blues 16th with just 11 points.

Any hopes of retaining their status as Premier League champions has evaporated and they face a real struggle to qualify for next season's Champions League.
