A heartbroken Texas father has revealed how he followed cell phone coordinates to find his missing son’s dead body in a creek.
Tony Beason, 53, of Longview, tracked down the location of his son Tommy’s body after following the information on a cell phone which he received from an investigator.
Beason said he had been determined to find his 30-year-old son, who had been missing for three weeks, before Thanksgiving.
The body was pulled from Little Caney Creek on Mount Pisgah Road near Liberty City on Wednesday afternoon, KLTV reported.
Beason added that he identified his son by the marks on his body.
‘I was looking for some closure,’ he told the station.
‘You know, the thing in three weeks is, when you look and you don’t find him and you’re relieved, but then again you’re hurting.
‘But when we got to that creek yesterday and I see the buzzards, I just looked up and said ‘thank you, Lord’.’
Sadly, Beason revealed he had spoken to his son for four months before his death, but had been looking for Tommy ever since he went missing.
He said they had spoken less and less after he found out about his son’s drug use.

‘About nine to ten months ago, it just took him over,’ he added. ‘I thought if I just cut him off, not do nothing with him and tell him straighten up, I mean, we did everything together, everything.’
But he urged other parents in his situation to not push their children away.
He also paid tribute to his son, who he described as an ‘awesome’ fisherman, hunter, athlete and scholar.
A cause of death has not yet been established.
Authorities believe the body is Tommy’s, but cannot confirm until an autopsy is conducted.
It is set to take place on Wednesday.
