Martin Skrtel's weekend got even better on Sunday night when the Liverpool defender bumped into another eastern European sports star on a high at a London restaurant.
The Slovakian centre back was celebrating his stunning strike in the Reds' 4-1 win over Manchester City at Novikov Restaurant and Bar in Mayfair at the same time as Serbian tennis sensation Novak Djokovic was toasting his straight sets victory over Roger Federer, which saw him claim the ATP World Tour Finals trophy.
The Liverpool man and his wife Barbora posed for a picture with the grinning world No 1 and Skrtel was delighted to meet the 'legend' judging by the number of exclamation marks in his Instagram post.

'Legend himself!!! what an honour to meet this guy! absolutely superstar in tennis but still a nice person!!! thanks for the picture @djokernole,' the defender wrote.
The restaurant, which serves Italian and Asian cuisine, is clearly a favourite haunt of Wimbledon Champion Djokovic, with the 28-year-old visiting with his wife Jelena and the rest of his team at the beginning of the tournament at the O2 Arena.
Skrtel, who is clearly a fan of tennis having watched the Czech Republic pick up the Fed Cup earlier this month, may very well have arranged the meeting as he thanked the Serb's coach Boris Becker on Instagram.

Djokovic picked up his 11th title of an incredible season at by beating Federer 6-3, 6-4 to claim an unprecedented fourth consecutive ATP World Tour Finals crown.
While the season is over now for the Serbian world No 1, Skrtel helped ignite Liverpool's Premier League campaign with his rasping half volley that sealed a remarkable 4-1 win for his side at the Etihad on Saturday.
The defender will perhaps be hoping that Djokovic's title-winning prowess might have rubbed off on him as they posed for their picture on Sunday.
