Single women looking for a sugar daddy online prove they're not all 'blonde, thin and big-breasted' in a daring calendar shoot

  • SugarDaters website is challenging stereotypes surrounding 'sugar babes'
  • Based in Denmark the site has more than 45,000 members
  • Calendar is on sale from December and features 12 revealing portraits
  • Testimonials from members reveal backgrounds of abuse and alcoholism

A dating website which aims to match young women with their perfect sugar daddy has released a daring calendar to try to bust some of the stereotypes surrounding its clients.

SugarDaters argues that not all women who seek out an older, richer suitor are 'blonde, thin, big-breasted and conventionally nice-looking'.

The site, which has 45,000 members in Denmark and more than 1,000 in the UK, features some of its real members in sexy boudoir shots - including a recovered alcoholic and a victim of abuse.

Recovering alcoholic Hele, 52, strikes a pose in a sultry shot for the calendar that is out in December. Her moving testimonial is far from what you would expect on a dating website

It hopes the raunchy calendar, which is on sale from December, will change people's perceptions about its members and encourage more sugar daddies and sugar babes to sign up.

The 12 ladies who stripped off for the shoot are aged between 20 and 52, and many have inspiring stories to tell - including Helle, 52, a recovered alcoholic.

She said: 'I have been a disappointment to my children, they came to hate me, and they didn't even want to visit or to talk to me anymore.

'I realised my life was falling apart so I decided to do something about it. Now they visit and we cook together, having dinner like any other normal family. I am very proud of myself.'

Meanwhile calendar girl Lærke, 20, is a victim of abuse. She proudly displays a tattoo on her chest in a slinky pale pink negligee.

She said: 'My life has not been easy but it doesn't put me down. This is all about fighting. I was beaten, abused, exploited, stabbed in the back, but I still stand stronger than ever before.'

All of the women involved have different reasons for signing up to the site and taking part in the calendar itself.

However for Sabine, 41, it was simply a straight forward way of meeting someone later in life.

She said: 'I am looking for a casual relationship. There's too much trouble in going out in a club and wait to be hit on.

'It's far more comfortable for me to sit in my pyjamas and browse for the men I like.'

With moving stories of abuse and alcoholism, the testimonials are perhaps more thought provoking than the sultry images themselves.

After losing weight Heidi, 44, is using the dating site to boost her confidence and appears completely naked in her photograph.

She said: 'I would like to gain confidence in myself again, just as I had in the past.

I live everyday like it's the last day. I try to experience as much as possible otherwise I will end up having regrets. I am too young to live with regrets.'
Noelle, 21

'Now that I have been brave enough to lose 60kg (9st 4lb), I want to be complimented again, feel feminine and attractive.'

Noelle, 21, is another of the 12 Sugar Babes featured in the calendar that aims challenge stereotypes.

She flaunts her curves, and a large tattoo on her thigh, in a black bra and tie-up briefs.

Rikki Tholstrup Jørgensen, SugarDaters co-founder, said: 'The idea is to involve all kinds of girls in order to break the stereotype of the blonde, thin, big-breasted, conventionally nice-looking sugar babe.

'We want to demonstrate that everyone is a unique piece of art and deserves to be photographed.'

There is no mention of lavish holidays or designer handbags - just women with enough life experience to know what they want from a relationship.

The site itself describes a Sugar Babe as 'not a golddigger but a beautiful woman who enjoys the companionship of a mature and experienced man, who in return takes care that she won't miss anything on a material level'.

The sugar daddy phenomenon is growing with rival site seekingarrangement.com boasting more than five million members, with women outnumbering men four to one and three thousand new sign ups daily.
