'What a load of rubbish': The X Factor's Mahalia Simpson defends mentor Dannii Minogue over allegations 'she's a 'diva' and doesn't mix with the contestants off camera'
She's the latest pop star to be accused of being a 'diva', but eliminated X Factor Australia contestant Mahalia Simpson has jumped to the defense of her mentor Dannii Minogue.
The humble singer told Daily Mail Australia that she was grateful for the 44-year-old's support on the show, rebutting claims that Chris Isaak was the only judge to spend time with the contestants outside of filming.
In her impassioned response, the 22-year-old expressed her staunch support of Kylie's younger sister, saying she 'has always been sweet'.

According to Woman's Day, the X Factor Australia judge 'won't get out of bed for less than $10 million,' and refuses to have anything to do with the contestants off camera.
'What a load of rubbish,' said Mahalia. 'She isn't [a diva] by a long shot, she has brought out a lot in me as a performer during X Factor and has always been sweet.'
The vocalist also added that Dannii often spent time with her.
'She has invited me to hang in her dressing room whenever during the show days,' she explained.

The magazine also reported that while in her role as judge for the UK's version of the reality show, Kylie's younger sister had a slew of demands.
'She travelled by private jet as a perk, but she acted like it was her right,' a source said.
Dannii also reportedly rejected an offer to take a seat on the UK panel in 2012 when her demands for an $8 million salary weren't met.

A source close to show boss Simon Cowell told ClickOnline at the time: 'We won’t be held to ransom — that’s completely ridiculous.'
It was reported that her high salary request was nearly $6 million more than the next highest paid judge, Take That star Gary Barlow.
However, it was rumored that Dannii had no intention of returning to the show anyway, and insiders close to her said it was a publicity stunt by the X Factor's production company .
