Is it made of Blue Steel? Ben Stiller wrecks a classic car for crash scene on set of Zoolander sequel

It took 15 years, but he's finally back as the self-proclaimed most famous male model in the world.

Ben Stiller was spotted on set in New York on Saturday filming an outrageous car crash scene for Zoolander 2.

The 49-year-old actor was seated in a red convertible with actor Cyrus Arnold,13, in the passenger seat, who reportedly plays Derek Zoolander's son in the flick.

The scene was shot in multiple segments, as it obviously would've been far too dangerous to film the car flipping with the actors still inside.

So an empty car was dragged and impressively flipped by a large truck, before Ben and Cyrus were put back in the car for the completion of the shot.

In the scene, Ben is seated in the driver's seat, apparently hunkered down after the crash, gripping the steering wheel with both gloved hands.

Of course his sunglasses, leather jacket and trademark mussed hair are completely intact.

While Ben appears to handle the crash calmly, Cyrus reacts quite badly, as not only was he just in a severe crash, but his chocolate ice cream cone has apparently been smeared all over his face and fallen off the cone.

Besides starring in the comedy, Ben is also directing the film, and was seen outside the car planning upcoming shots with a viewfinder.

A few days before, Ben, or Zoolander according to the Instagram account, released what looked to be a short clip of the scene right before the crash, which depicts Ben dancing with an ice cream cone as he drives along in the red convertible.

On Wednesday, the new trailer was finally revealed, and while most heralded it as hilarious, some were put off by a scene involving Benedict Cumberbatch playing a transsexual model named 'All.'

Indeed, LGBTQ activists have called for a boycott of the film because of the portrayal.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, one activist, Sarah Rose, called the portrayal 'the modern equivalent of using blackface to represent a minority.'
