Sergio Ramos has said nobody at Real Madrid is pointing the finger at Rafa Benitez following the club's embarrassing 4-0 home defeat byBarcelona on Saturday.

The Real captain recovered from a shoulder injury to line up in El Clasico but was powerless to stop his club's arch rivals from running riot at the Bernabeu.

But manager Benitez has taken the brunt of much of the criticism, with many questioning his position even prior to the defeat.

'I don't like to point fingers or resort to blaming,' said Ramos after the game. 'When things don't go well, that's when we must be more united.

'Now we must turn the page and think about the next game. It would be foolish not to believe in your own coach.

'We have to be more united than ever with our president and coach. We weren't comfortable against Barcelona, who played a great game.'

Prior to November Real were unbeaten in La Liga but were beaten 3-2 at Sevilla before the international break prior to their humbling in the Clasico on Saturday.

But while Ramos admits his side were poor against Barca, the Spain international said it was too early in the season to talk about failure.

'When the result is so big, there's too many words [reported],' he said. 'But Real Madrid only deal with facts.

Benitez is under pressure at Real Madrid after losing his last two games in La Liga

'They didn't miss a beat. We didn't frustrate Barca or put them under enough pressure. They were very comfortable and had a very complete game.

'There's still six months of the season to go and it's too early to talk about failure. We're still in all the competitions.

'We're six points behind a team who don't usually fail, but we've won Leagues when we've been behind.'

Benitez replaced Carlo Ancelotti, who lost his job despite winning the Champions League in his first season, at the end of the last campaign.

While the Los Blancos captain admits the players were closer to Ancelotti, he said the relationship with the new manager is good.

'Sometimes the players, coach and president get booed, but this is part of our status.

'We were closer [with Carlo Ancelotti] as we worked with him for two years, but our relationship with Benitez is good.'

Real will be looking to avoid a third straight defeat when they travel to Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Wednesday.
