Paying Gwen a backhanded compliment? Gavin Rossdale wears wedding ring to gala following celebrity tennis tournament

He was happily married to one of the most attractive smashers in the world of music.

So no doubt Gavin Rossdale was paying his estranged wife Gwen Stefani a backhanded compliment when he wore his wedding ring to a celebrity tennis tournament gala in Florida on Saturday.

While she has apparently moved on since their split, which is said to have occurred after she found incriminating text messages on his phone, the fading Bush frontman does not seem quite so keen.

For he seemed proud to flash his band as he attended the 26th Annual Chris Evert/Raymond James Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic Gala.

The 50-year-old cut something of a dash in a bespoke suit, and had earlier in the day been spotted hacking and slashing the ball around with all the enthusiasm of an athletically challenged amateur as he took part in the fun event.

But at least Gavin, who once had a gay love affair with 80s pop star Marilyn, was able to get his hands on some noteworthy female talent on the night.

For he posed up with veteran tennis lovelies Chris Evert and Martina Navratalova as he arrived at the Boca Raton Resort bash.

While Gavin is single at the moment, Gwen, 46, has been happy to broadcast her happiness at getting romantically entangled up with fellow The Voice judge Blake Shelton.

The saucy blonde beauty told Ellen DeGeneres during Friday's show she was having 'lots of fun' with her new love, and even yelped 'Ride em’ cowboy' when his picture 'accidentally' flashed up on the studio screen.

Gwen hit the headlines when it was revealed the reason for her split with her husband of nearly 13 years in August was because he had allegedly been having a long term affair with their family nanny, Mindy Mann.

According to Us Weekly she found explicit text messages and photos on an iPad which was linked to Gavin's phone.

While no one involved has made a comment publicly about the cheating allegations, according to an insider Gwen is allowing her new happiness be her revenge.
