Sergio Aguero is the highest-scoring South American in Premier League history after Manchester City striker netted his 85th goal

- Uruguayan pair Luis Suarez (69 goals) and Gus Poyet (54) follow next
Saturday's mauling at the hands of Liverpool will have been a day to forget for Manchester City but for one of Manuel Pellegrini's stars it provided another landmark moment.
Sergio Aguero's brilliant strike at the Etihad took his tally to seven goals in nine appearances in the Premier League this season.
And his curling effort on 44 minutes has seen him become the most prolific South American player in Premier League history.

The 27-year-old now has 85 goals in England's top flight - one more than his Argentine compatriot Carlos Tevez who managed his total during spells at West Ham, Manchester United and City.
Luis Suarez is third on this list with 69 during his three-and-a-half seasons at Liverpool prior to joining Barcelona in 2014.
Suarez's fellow Uruguayan Gus Poyet sits fourth having scored 54 times from midfield during his combined seven years at Chelsea and Tottenham.
Nolberto Solano completes the top five with 49 goals during his time in England - spread over spells at Newcastle, Aston Villa and West Ham.

Aguero's overall tally has come in 129 appearances - giving him a formidable goal-to-game ratio of 0.66 per cent.
City's No 10, now in his fifth season in England, is widely regarded as the finest forward in the country - with only injuries having prevented the explosive striker from breaking Tevez's record sooner.
Last month he added weight to this notion in City’s 6-1 demolition of Newcastle by becoming only the fifth player to score five goals in a single Premier League fixture – joining Andy Cole, Alan Shearer, Jermain Defoe and Dimitar Berbatov.
Prior to his comeback at the weekend, Aguero had missed the last six weeks of the season due to a hamstring tear.
'One of the merits of this team is not just to depend on one player but of course our team is better with Sergio,' Pellegrini said at his pre-match press conference on Friday ahead of their clash at Liverpool.

Last season Aguero picked up the Premier League's Golden Boot award after scoring 26 goals in 31 games as Pellegrini's side finished runners-up behind champions Chelsea.
Leicester's red-hot forward Jamie Vardy currently leads this campaign's race with 13 goals but with Aguero fit and firing the England international knows he'll have to maintain his stellar form to pick up the award come May.
By then Aguero will be hoping to have retained the Golden Boot award on his mantelpiece alongside his third Premier League winner's medal.
City boss Manuel Pellegrini will be hoping Aguero can stay fit and fire them to the title this season
