Blind-folded TOWIE star Ferne McCann breaks down and cries as she FALLS from suspended bridge in I'm A Celebrity task

She is usually pretty fearless.

But, despite her bravado, TOWIE star Ferne McCann lost her cool when took part in a fear-inducing trial on Sunday's episode of I'm A Celebrity.

The Essex-born star broke down and cried during the show's Horror Flying Circus, which saw her blind-folded and suspended in mid-air on a narrow walk-bridge.

Starting off well, Vicky and Ferne had to make their way to a hi-wire which had two gangplanks.

As the celebrity with the most votes, Ferne was blindfolded, leaving Vicky to shout directions over to her. 'I don’t know my right from my left', she said.

But Ferne was more optimistic. 'You normally tell me what to do anyway, and I play netball so I’m quite good at throwing, quite good in taking direction. I feel like we can do this.'

The girls, dressed as clowns took their first steps onto their respective gangplanks.

However, it was at this point that that the fear began to set-in.

Ferne tentatively stepped out as Vicky directed her brilliantly. She had to step over a gap but reached her first star and threw it. Vicky caught it and they won two meals for camp.

Ferne then had to go over a raised platform. Again, she reached a star, threw it and Ferne caught it.

Vicky then warned Ferne that she was approaching a Perspex box full of green ants. “I don’t want to go in there” screamed Ferne. But she gritted her teeth and with Fern’s direction she unscrewed a star. But then her panic set in as the ants crawled over her. “Get me out of this box” she shouted and dropped the star.

Next up was a long red cylinder that she had to walk along. She reached another star, threw it and Vicky caught it making three stars, six meals for camp.

Next up Ferne had to walk over three large balls. She fell into the air so the clock was stopped and she got back onto the ball. This time she took a different approach and stepped around the balls. Again she fell again.

She finally made her way around and grabbed the star. She threw it to Vicky, but she missed and dropped it.

Her final challenge was climbing up and sliding down a slide and she had to grab a star on her way down. She just missed it making a total of three stars and six meals for camp.

'Gutted', said Ferne when she was back on land. 'The ants threw me. The last one I went for it but just missed it.'

'A bad throw or a good catch?' Ant and Dec asked. 'It was a mixture of both. I’m so devastated. Well done Ferne. Those green ants proper did you. I’m devastated. We look ridiculous.' said Vicky.

'Six is not impressive,' she continued. 'I don’t mind eating rice and beans again'.
