The night was to honour some of the biggest stars in music. 

And though they weren't musicians themselves, Kendall and Kylie Jenner still found a way to steal the spotlight from many of the hitmakers.

The two young reality stars wore very sexy looks as they hit the red carpet at the American Music Awards held at the Microsoft Theater  in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

Kylie, 18, showed plenty of skin in a racy dominatrix-inspired number while 20-year-old Kendall put her long model legs on full display in a black mini dress.

Kylie had looked stunning as she put her enviable figure on display in a form-fitting, black leather and chain dress as she arrived for the show on Kendall's arm.

Kylie's daring dress featured a high collar and cut-outs along the sides as well as the shoulders.

It was embellished with silver chains along the front - which featured a plunging V-cut - as well as along a large slit up the right side.

She coupled the show-stopping number, which highlighted her toned figure, with a pair of metallic pumps.

Kylie wore her long, raven tresses styled in a center part, and pulled back into a sleek ponytail, with a few wisps of hair falling down to frame her face. 

Her outrageous outfit was not the only thing that many noticed about the outing as her older rapper boyfriend Tyga was spotted with her at the event after reports they had split earlier this week.

She had debuted the look earlier in the day on Instagram, giving a shout out to celebrity stylist Jen Atkin.

Fresh-faced: The raven-haired beauty kept her make-up more natural, letting her daring dress stand out

The outing comes just hours after the release of what appeared to be a 'diss track' attacking her.

The 26-year-old walked closely behind Kylie, as she entered the venue hand-in-hand with Kendall. Tyga walked the red carpet separately - before catching up with the sisters inside. 

But it later emerged they had been together earlier in the evening - with Kylie sharing a Snapchat of Tyga showing off his dance moves in a hotel before they left for the event. 

The stunning star presented at this year's ceremony, as she shared in a throwback post of her and sister Khloe from the previous year's awards.

Meanwhile Kendall was glowing as she arrived in a slinky, black mini dress with a high collar and embellishments along the sleeves.

The form-fitting dress highlighted the model's slim figure, as well as her toned pins as it fell to her mid-thigh.

Kendall also flashed a daring amount of skin along the back and sides as the revealing number was backless as well.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star wore her raven tresses in a chic topknot, while also showing off edgy, blunt bangs.

Kendall sported heavy eyeliner for the event, showing off a bit of a cat eye as well as shimmery, gold eye shadow.

She coupled the bold look with a shiny, nude lip, and opted not to sport any other accessories for the evening. 

The sisters kept close to each other as they arrived on the red carpet, each showing off their edgy, all-black ensembles. 

However, they were missing someone, as Kylie had taken to Instagram to share her sadness at older, half-sister Khloe not being able to attend due to suffering from a staph infection.

Kylie shared a sweet photo of her and Khloe chatting on the carpet from the previous year's awards show, along with a message about missing her.

'Last year at the AMAs with khlo who is still on bed rest & I can't even see her yet :(. I'll miss you today. Can't wait to present,' she wrote.

She followed up with a second set of photos showing her, Kendall, and Khloe embracing as they laughed together.

Once inside the star was surprisingly spotted with Tyga, 26, who she had reportedly dumped on Thursday - his birthday.

The rapper had even released an expletive-laden track called Happy Birthday, which seemed to comment on the split.

The lyrics appeared to be firing directly towards his break-up with the reality television star, as it starts: 'Think I'm worried 'bout a rumour?' before apparently calling the teenager 'lame.'

However, the as the two were spotted walking together - along with Kendall - inside the American Music Awards - they could be working things out, but hoping to keep it private, as Kylie had previously said on her website that she didn't like going public with the ups and downs of her relationships.

She also later shared a Snapchat video, which featured the Last Kings founder showing off his moves.

In a post titled 'What I really think about relationships,' she explained: 'I've never believed in the idea of the public knowing everything about my relationship and every time I break up and make up,' she wrote. 

Kylie added: 'I'm not afraid to show who I'm dating, but I'm also not about to talk about every little detail of my relationship.' 

The stunner then hit the stage to present along with pal Gigi Hadid, who flaunted her figure in a plunging, white crop top and coordinating, high-waisted skirt.

The gorgeous pair presented the trophy for Favorite Album - Rap/Hip-Hop to Nicki Minaj for The Pinkprint.
