Holly Holm’s inner circle hit the jackpot on Sunday, winning a six-figure pay out when the 34-year-old knocked out Ronda Rousey at UFC 193.

Holm stunned the bantamweight champion in the second round, dropping her with a kick to the head before finishing the job.

And her manager revealed the team had always been confident she would upset the odds.

‘None of the team ever even had a doubt,’ Lenny Fresquez told USA Today before confirming the win was in six figures. ‘I am sorry Vegas. You shouldn’t have put the odds so high.

‘It was couple of our team members. We had a good pot together so it was nice. I wish I would have (placed) more money.

‘Not a person in the camp had a doubt Holly would win this fight. There was never any negativity from inside the camp. She has a great team.’

Holm was a huge underdog going into the fight with odds of 10/1 widely available.

But her superior striking brought a swift end to Rousey’s unblemished record.

‘She’s won a lot of fights and imposed her will on a lot of fighters,’ Holm said. ‘So I expected her to be aggressive and impose her will on me.

‘She had me on the cage for a minute and obviously she was trying in for a take down right there... she had a lot of things she was trying so I’m just glad I put in the practice.

‘We figured her aggression was coming, if it didn’t that’s OK, but with footwork and my career we figured she wouldn’t give me that space. There’s been a lot of blood, sweat and tears but it was all worth it.’

Professional gambler David Oancea was also celebrating after he scooped $240,000 (£158,000) on the result from an $20,000 stake.
