Jodie Foster is mother to two boys but on Friday she took her furry baby, Ziggy to the vet for what seemed to be a regular check-up.

The 53-year-old actress turned director and her wife, Alexandra Hedison, 46, were spotted as they escorted their beloved pooch for an examination.

Seemingly in decent spirits, the visit didn't seem life threatening as the couple casually walked their devoted companion into the office.

The Silence of the Lambs actress and her photographer wife, who married in April 2014 were dressed casually for the visit. 

Foster took time out of her busy schedule from directing her latest film, Money Monster to accompany her wife and dog to the vet's office.

The two-time Oscar winner has been shooting the film since this past February in New York City, which stars George Clooney, Julia Roberts and Jack O'Connell.

Clooney stars as Lee Gates, a financial TV personality who offers stock advice on his hit show, Money Monster.

Following a bad tip from Lee, viewer Kyle Budwell, played by O'Connell loses all his money and holds Gates with his studio crew, hostage on air threatening to kill the host unless his money is recovered.

Julia Roberts is cast as a reporter outside the studio covering the drama as it unfolds.

Money Monster, the dramatic thriller film is set to be released in the US on April 8, 2016. 

Foster made her directorial debut with Little Man Tate in 1991, the same year The Silence of the Lambs was released.

She also directed several episodes of the Netflix hit series Orange Is the New Black and House of Cards.
