EXCLUSIVE: Josh Duggar's 'dream home' was sold to mystery investment company tied to longtime member of family's inner circle two days before porn star accused him of 'violent' paid-for sex sessions

  • Josh and Anna Duggar sold 5-bedroom Siloam Springs, Arkansas home to ALB Investments, LLC on August 24 for $65,000
  • ALB Investments was registered by Duggar family attorney and longtime friend Travis Story, who is also member of family's Cross Church
  • Address used to register ALB Investments is same as Josh and Anna Duggar's home that was just sold
  • Under Arkansas law, ownership of such companies is confidential. Lawyer Story has declined to comment to Daily Mail Online
  • On August 26, porn star Danica Dillon revealed she had two sexual encounters with Duggar. She filed $500,000 lawsuit last week
  • On paper, the Duggars made a $10,000 profit on home that they bought just eight months prior
  • But based on property websites Zillow, Trulia and Realtor.com, the home has been valued up to $178,000

Josh Duggar sold his family's 'dream home' in a swift transaction just days after he was exposed by the Ashley Madison cheating scandal to a newly-minted, mystery investment company tied to a member of his family's inner circle, Daily Mail Online can reveal.

The disgraced former reality TV star was forced to admit he had been unfaithful to wife Anna on August 20 after hackers dumped stolen data from Ashley Madison, a website for cheating spouses.

Duggar was one of the names made public.

Josh and Anna, who have four children, then appeared to take precautionary measures against any fallout.

On August 24, the couple sold their five-bedroom home in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, for $65,000 to ALB Investments LLC, which appears to be a company set up on the same day by their attorney Travis W. Story.

On paper, the Duggars made a $10,000 profit on the home which they had bought eight months before.

Last week, a civil lawsuit was filed against Josh Duggar by a porn star who claims he was violent with her on two occasions during paid-for sex sessions.

Danica Dillon, whose real name is Ashley Stamm-Northup, accused Duggar of battery, saying she felt 'as if she were being raped' during their encounters, according to the suit.

She is seeking damages in excess of $500,000.

Duggar has admitted he was unfaithful to his wife but has not commented on Dillon’s claims made in the lawsuit.

She alleged that she met Duggar, 27, while stripping at a Philadelphia club in March but her story only became public on August 26, in the wake of the Ashley Madison hack.

Daily Mail Online has now discovered that two days earlier, on August 24, Josh and Anna Duggar sold their home to limited liability company, ALB Investments.

An LLC is commonly used in business to provide a measure of legal protection for the assets of company owners and partners.

According to documents filed with the Arkansas Secretary of State, the registered agent of ALB Investments LLC is Travis Story.

The address used to register ALB Investments in Siloam Springs is the same location as the home being sold.

However it is not clear who are the owners of the investment company - such information is confidential under a 2007 law.

The warranty deed for the property is signed by Josh and Anna Duggar, Travis Story and a public notary.

Story is a 'long-time friend of the Duggars' according to sources, and he attends Cross Church with the former  reality stars.

He has previously handled a number of legal matters for the family and in April was named on another business registration record with Josh Duggar.

Story has not responded to multiple requests for comment from Daily Mail Online.

A Duggar family insider told Daily Mail Online that Josh and Anna's home was supposed to be the place where they could put down roots after leaving Washington D.C.

Josh Duggar was forced to leave behind a burgeoning political career when it was revealed he had sexually abused four of his sisters and a babysitter, one of whom was under ten at the time, when he was a teenager.

He returned to Arkansas in disgrace after the bombshell disclosures in May. In July, TLC cancelled the conservative Christian family's show '19 kids and counting'.

Duggar apologized in a statement, saying he 'acted inexcusably', and resigned from his job at Christian lobbying group Family Research Council.

The couple had no intention of selling their new, secluded Siloam Springs home until the Ashley Madison scandal broke, the source told Daily Mail Online.

'That was the first home Josh ever owned and up until then they were renting,' the Duggar insider said.

'It was a definite fixer-upper, and in early August, Josh had even enlisted his brother-in-law David Waller [Anna's sister Priscilla's husband] to help him rehab and update the place.

'All of that fixing up came to a halt when the scandal broke and Josh went into hiding on the Duggar compound.

'Before you know it, the home is sold to a company registered by their attorney and long-time family friend Travis Story.

'Jim Bob [Duggar family patriarch] may seem like he just fell off the turnip truck but he's savvy when it comes to his investments and real estate.

'This was only done to protect Josh, and not for any other reason. This was going to be Josh and Anna's dream home.'

Travis Story has handled a number of Duggar family legal matters.

In April, the lawyer and Josh Duggar were listed as officers of Fivestone Group LLC. The company address was listed at the Duggar family compound in Springdale, Arkansas.

Last month, Story represented James R. Duggar, known as Jim Bob, in a non-trial case against Deutsche Bank, according to a court docket.

Story was also the attorney who represented Protect Fayetteville, a group who opposed a civil rights bill to protect the rights of the LGBT community in the city last year.

It was previously revealed by Daily Mail Online that the Duggars were behind a hate-filled robocall relating to the anti-discrimination laws, urging people to vote against the legislation.

Josh Duggar's mother Michelle paid for the call even though the legislation was being proposed in Fayetteville, a town 11 miles from their Tontitown home.

Her robocall message incorrectly alleged that the law would allow men to 'use women's and girls' restrooms, locker rooms, showers and sleeping areas'.

Despite the coincidental timing of Josh and Anna Duggar's home sale, a professor from the UCLA School of Law told Daily Mail Online that nothing fraudulent appeared to have taken place.

Professor Eugene Volokh said that unless the home had been bought for significantly less than market value, the sale appeared legitimate.

He said: 'The question is whether they sold it for something less than market rate. And if the answer is no, if they sold it for the market price, then it doesn't sound like a fraudulent conveyance to me.'

The Duggars may have also been protected from potential lawsuits by Arkansas' Homestead Exemption Act, which shows that, in some circumstances, residents of the state cannot have their private homes seized following court rulings.

According to the 2010 Arkansas Code, section 16-66-210, the 'Homestead Exemption Act': 'The homestead of any resident of this state who is married or the head of a family shall not be subject to the lien of any judgment, or decree of any court, or to sale under execution or other process thereon, except such as may be rendered for the purchase money or for specific liens, laborers' or mechanics' liens for improving the homestead, or for taxes, or against executors, administrators, guardians, receivers, attorneys for moneys collected by them, and other trustees of an express trust for moneys due from them, in their fiduciary capacity.'

The Duggars turned a $10,000 profit on the sale after they bought the almost 3,000 square foot, bank-owned home with five beds and two bath on January 20 for $55,000.

However questions have been raised by the current estimated value for the home, which reportedly underwent extensive renovations when Josh and Anna moved in.

Based on property websites Zillow, Trulia and Realtor.com, the home has been valued up to $178,000.

An insider told Daily Mail Online earlier this year: 'The Duggars flip homes for profit, they go to auctions and really play the real estate game well.'

Similar homes in the area are selling for around the $200,000 mark.

Further details of the sale were not available in public records.

According to his law firm's website, Story runs his practice alongside two other businesses – a real estate company, Real Estate Brokers NWA, handed down from his grandfather, and Pinnacle One Productions, a media production company he started when he was 18 which works with non-profit and political entities.

The Story Law Firm, established in January 2009, gives advice on setting up an Arkansas LLC in order to 'best protect your assets'.

A blog post states: 'Creating an LLC is a great way to protect your personal and family assets.

'The LLC separates your personal assets and finances from your business assets and finances for the best protection in the event of a lawsuit.

'If there is a lawsuit filed against the LLC, the lawsuit can only embody the assets listed in the LLC; therefore, your personal name and property will not be affected in the lawsuit.

'If you have assets outside of the business, they won't come under attack because only the assets inside of the LLC can be considered in a lawsuit.'

Story owns his own home in Lowell, Arkansas, where he lives with his wife and two sons.

Josh Duggar entered a faith-based rehab program in Illinois in August to treat his infidelity and addiction to porn.

The Duggar clan reportedly visited him in rehab last week but it is not known if he returned with them to Arkansas or stayed at the facility.

Anna's location is unknown, however it has been suggested that she has taken her four children to her parents' home in Florida.

The estimated price on Zillow for the Duggars' former home in Siloam Springs is upwards of $161,000 - after they bought it in January for $55,000 - and turned a $10,000 profit when they sold in September

There is speculation over whether the devout couple, who married in 2008, will divorce.

A family source told People magazine: 'Anna will not leave him. As with her in-laws, she is turning more to her faith than ever.

'She and Josh are probably praying around the clock right now, I would assume.'

In August, Josh apologized for his indiscretions on his family's website.

He said: 'While espousing faith and family values, I have been unfaithful to my wife. The last few years, while publicly stating I was fighting against immorality in our country I was hiding my own personal failures,' he added, calling himself the 'biggest hypocrite ever.'

In an earlier version of Duggar's statement posted on the family's website and reported by People magazine and Buzzfeed, he said: 'I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife.'

The reference to pornography was removed in an updated version of the statement.
