Cracking up! Sia recounts the 'hilarious' moment her vocal cords malfunctioned while performing hit single Chandelier at Jennifer Aniston's A-list wedding
Suffering a very public vocal chord malfunction is perhaps one of the greatest fears a singer could have.
And yet, this is exactly what happened to Sia earlier this year as she performed her hit single Chandelier in front of the A-list crowd attending Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux's wedding.
'I sang at my friend's wedding a couple of weeks ago and it was actually just laughable,' said Sia on Monday while reflecting on the cringe-worthy incident on air with NOVA FM's Fitzy and Wippa.

Well that's unfortunate! Sia reveals the 'hilarious' moment her voice cracked as she performed during Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux's wedding earlier this year
'I went for the Chandelier chorus and it was like, it was actually hilarious. It sounded like third weird squeaky notes at the same time were coming out, it was just hilarious.'
Known for her down-to-earth attitude, the Australian vocalist certainly seemed not to have been phased by the potentially shattering moment.
The wedding was attended by Jennifer's Friend's co-stars as well as high profile celebrities Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi, Jimmy Kimmel, Emily Blunt and Howard Stern.

'It's very boring': Sia has made it clear that she is adverse to taking singing lessons
While some may question whether the fact that Sia's voice gave out mid-performance indicates poor singing technique, Sia has made it clear that she is adverse to taking singing lessons.
'It's very boring, I don't warm up', she told Fitzy and Wippa, before adding that she did take a few singing lessons before she performed at this year's Grammys, 'because I lost my voice and couldn't hit the high notes'.
'Everyone was saying there is this guy, who will condition your voice and help you hit the high notes…it was $500 an hour, that's crazy, I can already sing.'
'He said if I keep singing the way I do I will lose my voice like other people,' she mused.
Shady lady: A reluctant star, Sia has been dealing with fame over the past few years by hiding her face from public view using a slew of unusual masks
A reluctant star, Sia has been dealing with fame over the past few years by hiding her face from public view using a slew of unusual masks.
When recently asked by Sunrise co-host Samantha Armytage why she shuns the spotlight, Sia simply responded: 'Because it's ugly, it makes me feel hunted'.
Describing celebrity attention as 'unpleasant', the notoriously reluctant star said she only ever wanted a 'regular life' while doing what she loves - making music.
'It's just like wanting to have a regular life just like a regular person and still be able to make music and sing ... but without having to sacrifice just having a regular life, that's all.'
