Justin Theroux does his own ass work.

The actor, who's married to Jennifer Aniston, stripped off and did his own nude scenes for the latest episode of HBO's The Leftovers.

The 44-year-old is seen slithering out of a bath tub and across a hotel bathroom floor reaching for a towel in all his glistening glory.

There's no question the star could have requested a stunt bottom but clearly did his own nude shots as verified by the sight of his well-documented tattoos.

In a shocking twist, his character Kevin Garney was seen lying dead on the floor of Virgil's trailer in the November 15 episode of the drama after downing a mason jar full of poison.

But in another quirky plot development, he came back from the dead at the end of Sunday's episode, clawing himself out of his freshly dug grave and cleaning himself off in a hotel bathroom.

And it's not just his butt that made viewers hit the pause button on their DVRs.

Justin also showed off some impressive pecs and rock hard abs as he stands in the bathroom doorway with a towel clasped in front of him to preserve his modesty.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he defended the gimmick of killing him off and then bringing him back.

'There are religious themes in the show and at a certain point you have to get out of our reality, go to the other side and start biting down on the afterlife, which was set up in the first thirty seconds of our pilot: “Where do people go?” he told the publication.

'And that’s not to say that episode eight is the answer to where people go, but it’s one possible version,' he went on. 

'Or, it could be that Kevin drank some poison, his heart stopped for a minute (or a couple minutes or twenty minutes, whatever) and that’s just the dream he had during that time.'

Justin wed former Friends star Jen in August and recently revealed in a TV interview that he constantly tells the actress that she's beautiful.

The loved-up couple put their affection for each other in display at a charity gala in NYC last week, snuggling on the red carpet for photographers. 

It's a busy time for Justin who wrote the script for pal Ben Stiller's Zoolander 2 which is  set for release in February.

He's also currently filming The Girl On The Train with Emily Blunt, while it's just been announced that wife Jen will star opposite Robert de Niro in Taylor Hackford's The Comedian.
