Earlier this month he shut down rumours he was dating Australian model Sahara Ray after the pair were seen getting cosy in public.

But now it appears as if Cody Simpson may soon have tongues wagging again, as he was spotted on Sunday with yet another stunning blonde.

After lunching with friends in Los Angeles, the 18-year-old singer stayed close to the mystery girl as they headed down the street, and, later, draped his arm around her affectionately.

In true Australian style, the Gold Coast-born star went without shoes as he rolled his skateboard along the pavement outside the restaurant in Venice Beach.

The lanky teen, who owns his own record label Coast House Records, looked casual in a black long-sleeved top and a pair of low slung jeans in a light-wash colour.

He kept his face shaded from the glaring sun with black sunglasses and a blue flat brim cap, and carried a plastic cup filled with drink, as he made his way around the eclectic Californian suburb.

His fair-headed female friend looked equally cool in a black ribbed cropped T-shirt, and black shorts hidden an oversized grey jacket tied around her waist.

She finished off the look with a pair of purple velvet boots and a black fringe bag.

The girl, who had styled her long locks into a high ponytail, grabbed at Cody's hand when he wrapped it over her shoulder.

She pulled the ex-boyfriend of model Gigi Hadid closer to her with her other arm.

Setting the record straight: Cody appeared on KIIS FM's Kyle & Jackie O show soon after, telling the hosts Sahara was only a 'good friend'

Former flame: Cody began dating American model Gigi Hadid in May 2013, but the couple split earlier this year

Two weeks ago, Cody spoke with radio hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson on KIIS FM's 1065 about his relationship with Sahara.

'We are not dating,' he said.

'She is just a good friend,' Cody explained before telling the breakfast radio hosts 'she is a babe'.

Unsatisfied, Kyle continued to prod, and asked his show's guest: 'How does it work in that inner circle over there?'

'No one is dating these days, they are just hooking up,' Kyle continued.

Showing off his sense of humour and deflecting from answering the question, Cody answered: 'If I tell you I will have to kill you.'
