He's no stranger to playing the heir to a powerful noble family.
And despite trading the desolate environs of Winterfell for the tropical climate of Florence, Game of Thrones star Richard Madden, 29, looked at home on the set of TV drama Medici: Masters of Florence, on Monday.
The ruggedly handsome actor sported a more manageable hairdo than his disheveled long locks from recent shoots, with his dark wavy locks now slicked back as he got to work in the Italian city.

The publication reports that Spotnitz shed light on what will be covered in each of the hour-long episodes, by saying: 'The Medici came to power at a time of great social and economic inequality.
'They were great disrupters. Their banking practices led to the creation of a middle class, making them unimaginably wealthy.'
'The Medici in turn used their vast power and resources to challenge traditional thinking, ushering in a new era of revolutionary art and science such as the world had never seen. It's a powerful story that resonates even now.'
