Fighting fit: Justin Theroux, who married Jennifer Aniston in August, showed his buff body on The Leftovers on Sunday night
Revealed: The 44-year-old was butt naked in one scenes of his HBO series
No stunt double required: The actor's bottom was seen glistening and wet as he crawled out of a bath tub after his character was brought back from the dead. His tattoos were also clearly visible
There's no question the star could have requested a stunt bottom but clearly did his own nude shots as verified by the sight of his well-documented tattoos.
In a shocking twist, his character Kevin Garney was seen lying dead on the floor of Virgil's trailer in the November 15 episode of the drama after downing a mason jar full of poison.
But in another quirky plot development, he came back from the dead at the end of Sunday's episode, clawing himself out of his freshly dug grave and cleaning himself off in a hotel bathroom.

And it's not just his butt that made viewers hit the pause button on their DVRs.
Justin also showed off some impressive pecs and rock hard abs as he stands in the bathroom doorway with a towel clasped in front of him to preserve his modesty.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he defended the gimmick of killing him off and then bringing him back.
Plot twists: Following his 'death and resurrection,' his character Kevin becomes an assassin in the drama series based around the Biblical end of days
Committed: There are two episodes left to air and it's not yet known if HBO will commission a third season. Justin has said he'd be open to returning on the show if there's another season
'There are religious themes in the show and at a certain point you have to get out of our reality, go to the other side and start biting down on the afterlife, which was set up in the first thirty seconds of our pilot: “Where do people go?” he told the publication.
'And that’s not to say that episode eight is the answer to where people go, but it’s one possible version,' he went on.
'Or, it could be that Kevin drank some poison, his heart stopped for a minute (or a couple minutes or twenty minutes, whatever) and that’s just the dream he had during that time.'
Newlyweds: Justin and Jennifer put their affection for each other in display at a charity gala in NYC on November 16
Go hands free with Jennifer's bag by The Row
Whether she's dressed to the nines at a red carpet event, or keeping things much more low key for a date night with husband Justin Theroux, Jennifer Aniston always gets it just right.
The cute couple attended the Celebrity Charades Gala in New York, and both bundled up against the cold weather. JT rocked a khaki bomber jacket and worn out worker boots, while JA wore a pair of quirky wedge boots by Nicolas Andreas, a cozy coat and this very covetable crossbody bag.
It's by The Row, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's label and we love the luxe leather and distinctive shape. It's big enough for all your essentials (and some!) and can be worn slung over one shoulder or across the body. Click the link (right) to buy it now at Farfetch.
At just over $4000, copying Jennifer will certainly set you back a bit. But if you're looking for a more budget-friendly bag, we've had some bright ideas. Topshop, Oasis and ASOS have got our top picks!
Justin wed former Friends star Jen in August and recently revealed in a TV interview that he constantly tells the actress that she's beautiful.
The loved-up couple put their affection for each other in display at a charity gala in NYC last week, snuggling on the red carpet for photographers.

He's also currently filming The Girl On The Train with Emily Blunt, while it's just been announced that wife Jen will star opposite Robert de Niro in Taylor Hackford's The Comedian.
