It is not always the best idea to be a pushy parent.

But in Drew Barrymore's case it was just the ticket after she was spotted taking her daughter Olive around in a stroller as they headed to school in New York on Tuesday.

The youngster looked like she was having a great time relaxing in her buggy as she got ready to attend another day of play and lessons in the Big Apple.

Drew, 39, had dressed for the chilly weather by donning a heavy woollen cardigan, pullover, jeans and trainers, and showcased her youthful natural complexion by going make-up free.

The Going The Distance star's three-year-old pride and joy was also wrapped up in a winter jacket. shirt and warm trousers.

Olive is Drew's first child with her art consultant husband Will Kopelman, the son of former Chanel head honcho Arie Kopelman.

Their youngest daughter Frankie was born last year, and is now 19-months old.

In an interview with Extra, The Wildflower author revealed how motherhood has changed her.

She said: 'It's changed me in every single way a person can be changed, but what's great is women pretend like they have to get back to being themselves after having children, and the truth is you'll never be the same.

When it came to who's involved most with the discipline side of parenting, she gave equal credit.

ET star Drew said: 'We both are. Yeah, and we tag-team.'

The reformed wild child also previously revealed she is embracing her husband's Jewish heritage, saying in 2013: 'I’m a shiksa. I do the seders and we do Passover. I haven’t converted yet, [but] Olive will be raised traditionally.'
