It's an annual tradition just like turkey, pumpkin pie and football.
And a festive Mariah Carey looked delighted to be included as she led the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade on Thursday morning.
Dressed in a festive red dress with white fur wrap, the diva waved regally as she rode the streets of New York atop her float.

A diamond necklace and earrings glistened, while her hair was worn in ringlets.
Mariah is a huge fan of the holiday season, and this year shares her obsession with her fans - with a new Christmas movie she is starring in and directing premiering on Hallmark.
The 47-year-old plays a woman facing off against her high school nemesis, played by Lacey Chabert, in the musical A Christmas Melody, which debuts on Hallmark on December 19.

And so our obsession with Mariah Carey continues! The national treasure was on top form today as she rode in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade channeling some very glamorous vibes!
The songstress was the epitomne of old school Hollywood glamour in her stunning red floor-sweeping gown which she layered with a luxurious cream cropped coat.
Oh course, this being Mariah, there were certainly some statement accessorizes thrown into the mix. Would you look at those jewels! Bling-tastic. Mariah will also again perform her All I Want For Christmas Is You concert series. She also just released a new children's book based on her hit song.
The singer wasn't the only celebrity at the iconic parade, with Eva Longoria, American Ferrera and Jaimie Alexander all in attendance.
Eva, who was promoting upcoming NBC comedy Telenovela, looked happy to be at the bustling parade.

The producer flashed a big smile and gestured to the crowd in one photo as the floats began moving through the streets of Manhattan, writing 'It's starting!'
She also posted a photo with The Today Show's weatherman Al Roker, writing 'Me and @AlRoker getting ready to say Happy Thanksgiving to all of #America' and adding hashtag '#HappyTurkeyDay.'

Eva looked chic in an off-white long coat over a white turtleneck shirt and black pants.
Actress America Ferrera also made an appearance at the Macy's parade and shared her excitement at running into How To Train Your Dragon's Toothless.

America, who voices Astrid in the How To Train Your Dragon films, shared a photo of her with the Toothless dragon float on Twitter.
'Ran into my old friend #Toothless,' she wrote. 'So good to c u bud.'
She also shared some photos with Al Roker and actor Ben Feldman, who stars with her in upcoming NBC comedy Superstore.
The 31-year-old got into the holiday spirit with a bright red coat, which she wore over a black sweater.

Blindspot star Jaimie Alexander also attended the parade, and took time to thank the NYPD. Security has been tight at the parade this year, which comes just two weeks after the Paris terror attacks.
'With New York's finest,' wrote Jaimie on Twitter as she posed with a beaming police officer.
'Thanks for keeping up all safe.'

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade also featured performances from Andy Grammar, Panic! At The Disco, Plain White T's, Daughtry, Shawn Mendes and Andra Day.
The Roots' Questlove also made an appearance, dancing and singing with Big Bird on the colorful Sesame Street float.

The annual parade also featured marching bands from high schools around the US, as well as Broadway performers.
The Thanksgiving Day tradition also featured the usual colorful balloons with favorites like Spongebob Squarepants, Thomas The Tank Engine, Snoopy and Hello Kitty.
