Rolling In The... cash! Adele raked in £17MILLION in the past year despite taking a break from work... earning over £46,000 per DAY

She's in the midst of making her comeback after three years out of the limelight.

And, although Adele took an extended hiatus between the release of her last album and her new one, it didn't cost her a penny: in fact, newly-released figures have shown that the British singer managed to earn £17million last year alone, despite not working.

The 27-year-old, whose new album 25 is set to top the charts and break records, spent her days caring for son Angelo with her partner Simon Konecki and lying low while still raking in the cash.

Figures were released at Companies House this week, detailing the full earnings of Adele's company, Melted Stone over the past 12 months.

The company last year earned £16,996,737, which equates to a whopping £46,566 per day for the star, which is £20,000 more than the UK's average salary for 2015.

Much of Adele's earnings came from royalties following the sales of her previous two albums, 2008's release 21, and 2011's 21.

After taxes and overheads, the company's assets were marked at £25,383,784, meaning the singer - who had a very humble childhood, growing up in London's Tottenham - took a whopping £7m home.

A very lucrative break: The 27-year-old took herself away from the limelight and recording studio for a few years in between her last album 21, released in 2011, and her newly-released record, 25

Button up in a classic black coat like Adele's

Rumour has it Adele is in talks to headline next summer's Glastonbury Festival. No doubt tickets will be like gold dust, but there is an easier way to get in on Adele action!

We're addicted to Adele's style and have spotted her wearing uber high-end labels like Saint Laurent, Lanvin, Chloé, Alaïa and Emilia Wickstead in recent weeks. With a few bespoke creations by Jenny Packham and Burberry thrown in there too, of course!

This topper is another made-to-measure piece, but it features the military-inspired gold buttons that were a running theme through Burberry's Pre-Fall 2016 collection (pictured, right).

We love the collarless cut and smart style, as well as the fact that she might be a superstar with a Céline bag and a bespoke Burberry coat, but she's still the down to earth Adele we know and love... she accessorized with a nice hot cup of coffee!

This follows the revelation earlier this year that she had topped the list of Britain's richest young musicians - those under the age of 30 - despite not releasing new music since her 2011 record.

She also took time away from the stage, and, until her recent efforts, she didn't perform live since her appearance at the 2013 Oscars with a rendition of Bond song Skyfall.

She is believed to now be worth an estimated £50m, which was double that of her closest rivals, One Direction (whose earnings are calculated as a group).

And the £17m made by her company last year is just the tip of the iceberg: Adele also owns Melted Stone Publishing, the company that takes the profits of her lyrics and sheet music, although the figures for that offshoot have yet to be revealed.

However, they are expected to be high and further pad out her bank account as, in the space of eight months in 2013, the business was reported to have made a profit of £3.9m.

Although she's already a success story in her own right, with millions to her name and a very lucrative career, Adele is set to boost her earning power even more following the November 20 release of her latest album, 25.

The record thus far has been a phenomenal success. The Hello-fronted album has broken the single-week US album sales record in just four days, and total sales have already surpassed 2.43million copies.

This meant the British singer-songwriter smashed the previous record that was originally set 15 years ago by boy band N*Sync with their 2000 album No Strings Attached.

The huge Adele sales figures come at a time when artists rarely top 1 million in opening week sales due to the rise of online streaming.

The first single from 25, Hello, has sold more than 2.5 million digital copies and has been on top of Billboard's Digital Songs chart for four consecutive weeks since its release in October.

25 is Adele's first album since her 2011 release 21, which won six Grammy awards and sold more than 30 million copies worldwide.

Meanwhile, the singer - who is currently in America for a jam-packed promotional tour and on Monday appeared on Jimmy Fallon's The Tonight Show - could also be pocketing even more money next year as she is reportedly in advanced talks to top the bill at Glastonbury festival.

She could grace the famous Pyramid Stage at next year's festival at Worthy Farm in Somerset, England, despite previously ruling it out because of her fear of huge crowds.

Festival booker Martin Elbourne told Loaded: 'There's lots of talk about Adele and it's in there in the mix. Adele is in a situation in her career where frankly she can do whatever the hell she likes. Hopefully it will happen and it still needs to be confirmed. She's not into festivals but, obviously, every promoter in the world wants to get her so fingers crossed, we are hoping it's going to happen.'

Adele is one of a number of artists being linked to headline slots at Glastonbury next year with other names including Coldplay, Muse, The Stone Roses and Rihanna.
