Becoming Kylie! Bare-faced girl transforms into Ms Jenner by layering on masses of make-up to prove how much effort goes into the reality star's 'everyday' appearance

A young woman has transformed herself into the spitting image of Kylie Jenner using a wide variety of make-up products in a clever time-lapse video, which aims to demonstrate the enormous amount of care and attention that goes into the 18-year-old reality star’s appearance. 

Shivani Sharma, a Toronto-based photographer and student runs YouTube channel ModernDayShivalry, where she offers beauty tips and advice. The video in question was created as a part of a school assignment with the help of make-up artist Ashley Harry, as she explains in the video caption.

'This is a video component to a photo series I'm doing for school,' she says. 'Not a talk through makeup tutorial made to teach and not to literally "break the internet" but more so a reality check to what it actually takes a Jenner/Kardashian to look as they do on social media.'

Although the woman already bears a striking resemblance to the reality star, she emphasizes that the video is not meant to promote that, but rather focus on 'the major difference between the before/after'. 

'Learning to love yourself and accept yourself online has become a difficult struggle for more people, I want to expose how embracing your own true beauty and not comparing yourself to a celebrity is healthy!' she says. 

'As beautiful as the Family is, you are too! Makeup is a tool for fun, not to cover yourself up' 

Starting with the primer, the artist gives fresh-faced Shivani a once-over with a beauty blender sponge before doing the same with some foundation.

Next, Ashley applies concealer to under Shivani's eyes and on various other spots of her face before turning to the beauty blender once again to smooth it out.

Continuing on with the blender, Ashley applies setting power all over Shivani's face before moving on to the bronzing part of the video.

She applies the bronzer under the cheekbones, in spots on the forehead and under the jawline for a contouring effect. 

The next step is blush. Though the video is not made to be a tutorial and therefore the products used are not outlined at any point, it appears that Ashley is using a MAC blush on Shivani.

True to Kylie form, Shivani takes a moment in the middle of the make-up application to take a selfie. 

Ashley then busts out the highlighter, which she applies around Shivani's eyes and down her nose, she does a few touch-ups and then moves on to the eyes.

After priming Shivani's eyes, Ashley applies a deep purple eye shadow to the inner eye and along the lash line, then blends it with another brush higher into the lid. She adds a darker color into the center of the lid near the lash line and blends it in.

She adds a bit of smoky shadow below Shivani's lash line, brushes away the shadow that has fallen on her cheeks and then applies false eyelashes and mascara.

Lastly, the artist tackles Kylie's famous pout by over-lining Shivani's lips with a neutral taupe-beige. To show off the impressive likeness, Shivani takes a picture in the same pose as one of Kylie's previous Instagram posts. 

The time-lapse video, which has been viewed over 300,000 times has received dozens of comments from fans on the already-existing similarities between Shivani and Kylie as well as Kylie's sister Kendall.

'Before she looked like Kylie without makeup and after she looked like Kylie with makeup,' wrote one viewer. 'Whoo magic! Still a nice look.'

Shivani is clearly a fan of the Jenner girls as she has also imitated Kylie and her sister's make-up routine in tutorials on her channel, and also recreated Kendall's Calvin Klein ad appearance as a part of her #BreakTheInternet project.
