Chelsea Peretti gets engaged to Jordan Peele after two years of dating... and reveals he proposed 'during the family talent show'

Chelsea Peretti is now engaged to her boyfriend of two years, Jordan Peele.

On Saturday, the 37-year-old Brooklyn Nine-Nine actress announced on Twitter that her husband-to-be, 36, popped the question during a family talent show on Friday night.

'My fiancé (lololol) @JordanPeele proposed to me last night during the family talent show lolol,' she tweeted, along with a heart and floral emoticon.

Jordan also hinted at the proposal on his own Twitter page.

The Key and Peele star tweeted a diamond ring emoticon, which drew over a thousand re-tweets just seven hours after it was initially posted.

Chelsea began dating Jordan in 2013 at the encouragement of her Brooklyn Nine-Nine co-star Andy Samberg, according to Dish Nation.

A source told the website: 'Andy and Chelsea go way, way back so not only are they really close, but he's always interested in who she's dating.

'As soon as Andy learned that Jordan expressed an interest in Chelsea he was on it. Andy knew this was a great match so he made it very simple – he told Chelsea that Jordan was a good man and she needed to give him a shot. 

'Before you knew it, the two of them were hooking up and now they're inseparable.' 

The couple were recently asked how they spend their spare time while attending the Creative Arts Emmys in September.

'We stay at home, cook, do the dishes, and improvise musicals. One of our best ones was Monica Lewinsky: The Musical. It was for older Midwestern people traveling to New York to see something,' Jordan jokingly told Vulture.

On camera, Chelsea has starred as Gina Linetti on the hit Fox show Brooklyn Nine-Nine since 2013.

Previous acting credits include a role on the Kroll Show and even an appearance on her fiancé's sketch series Key and Peele, which also stars Keegan-Michael Key and recently ended after three years. 

Chelsea's fiancé has worked extensively in comedy as well.

The MADtv actor has appeared on Childrens Hospital since 2010, and has also lent his voice to Bob's Burgers.
