Laughing off the furore on Monday, Montana told Daily Mail Australia she had 'no idea' where claims she had been reprimanded by modelling agents for the outing came from.

'I haven't been contacted by my agents or David Jones. I don't even know why it's a story,' she said on Monday morning.

Adding that she was merely trying to buy some snacks, the Chanel beauty said: 'It would be pretty sad if my agents got angry at me for that.'

'I'll probably think twice before going into IGA maybe I'll make sure I get papped with a green juice and coconut,' she added lightheartedly.

Montana's comments come after a report published in The Daily Telegraph claimed she was told off her agency IMG for failing to maintain a glamorous profile in public.

The newspaper claimed that bosses at David Jones, for which Montana is an ambassador, were also unimpressed with her unkempt appearance when she visited the supermarket last week.

The department store however denied the report on Monday, telling Daily Mail Australia it hadn't been in contact with Montana in any such capacity.

'David Jones has not spoken to Montana Cox about the pictures that were taken of her last week nor do we have any issue whatsoever with them,' a spokesman said.

'David Jones would not tell our Ambassadors what they should eat nor what they should be wearing during their personal time,' they added.

An IMG agent said to look after the Australian model however told The Daily Telegraph it hadn't been in touch with Montana to discuss the photographs either.

Shunning make-up for the outing, the beauty was pared back, a completely different look from how she appears in the pages of fashion magazines, as she waited in line at the store.

Opting for comfort in the blazing Sydney heat, Montana went braless for the outing, showing off her endless legs in a thigh-skimming number.

She finished her off-duty look with some slippers and wore her brunette locks scraped off her face in a tight ponytail.

Montana, who found fame on Australia's Next Top Model, made a slight attempt to hide her face as she was photographed leaving the supermarket with her goods in a plastic bag.
