The 70-year-old star ditched her regular stately looks for a much more laid back and fun outfit as she attended the School Of Rock musical opening night on Broadway on Sunday night.

The talented actress rocked a look inspired by legendary AC/DC guitarist Angus Young as she strutted her stuff down the red carpet of the event held at the Winter Garden Theater in the Big Apple.

Not only did she have the rockstar look but also showed off that she could have the rock star attitude as she posed with her tongue out while flashing the peace sign.

Much like the 60-year-old rock God, Dame Helen wore a black blazer over a crisp white dress shirt with the top buttons undone along with a loosened purple tie.

Her platinum blonde locks were worn down as she sported natural, complimentary make-up on her face.

The Queen actress was quite the social butterfly at the event as she hung out with several other stars ahead of the Broadway debut including actress Sarah Paulson.

The pair were joined at the School Of Rock premiere with Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka as they enjoyed a night at the theatre together.

School Of Rock is a rock musical with music written by Andrew Lloyd Webber which is based off the successful 2013 film of the same name starring Jack Black.

The Broadway show will continue on Tuesday with dates at the Winter Garden Theater through 12 June 2016.
